It might be too much, but I hope there's Tomo or Kagura as a teacher too so we can have a Yukari-Kurosawa type of duo again.

Goated as always.
But I really hope we still get snow chapters. Where are we right now, season-wise? It must be still december, right? We didn‘t have new year‘s eve yet, unless I‘m completely blanking. There was a christmas tree, but did they celebrte christmas yet?
Anyway, that leaves us with Jan and Feb for the winter/snow theme. The potential for slapstick comedy is gonna be off the charts! Then in April, Japan starts their school year, where we will see Yotsuba in a whole new environment. I suppose we will see the first trimester, until summer break in July. Then we‘ll have completed a full year in-story. A fitting way to end the manga. I can see a party with all relevant characters to celebrate summer break as the very last chapter.
But with the current release schedule, that‘s not gonna be before 2040, haha.

Christmas was back in ch. 105-106. Since then we had the chapters about hiking to the top of Takaosan. That's not higher than about 600 m, but the view from the top did not show any snow between there and Fujisan, so I think that must have been in February at least. I'm pretty sure we're closing in on April and the start of school.
I also hope for a full manga year, maybe even by the early 2030s (OK, maybe this chapter made me a bit euphoric).

I don't think we're gonna see Yotsuba in school, that would be too big a change for a manga that's basically been in semi-hibernation for years now.

I don‘t think that‘s right. They only bought a christmas tree in 105-106, but didn‘t actually celebrate christmas. Also, look at chapter 113 page 11, there‘s still a christmas tree. And that‘s after the hiking arc. So it can‘t be February already, unless the Japanese are never throwing out their christmas trees.
Also, isn‘t New Years a HUGE deal in Japan? No way is Azuma just skipping over it. Never.
And lastly, this chapter has Yotsuba saying „I’m going to be in first grade next year“ implying it‘s still the old year.
I stand by it, it‘s december.

You might be right because of the christmas tree which I didn't remember because of the long time between chapters. Next year might just be next school year, but I admit that the christmas tree probably wouldn't be there long after christmas, although I've seen just that several times before. Maybe in the Koiwai household, but probably not by the neighbours
I was probably fooled by the hiking chapters, where a lot of the trees on the way up and on the top had leaves, and even the underbrush had a lot of foliage, in December? I didn't recognise most of it, but there were some trees with leaves that looked like ash or rowan, so I guessed it was a relative like Japanese ash. That would definitely not have leaves in December even as far south as Tokyo, nor would any other ash relative. Some other looked like maple, which shouldn't have foliage in December either. The beech tree in this chapter also had a little bit of foliage, but that might be a few leaves that managed to hold on.
About Fujisan, I guess there's been a bit less snow in later years, so it might look like that in December.
Azuma might just have been a bit late to go out and take pictures for the hiking chapters.

Therefore it has to be December still.
My worry is the fact that we are only 5 months in (the manga starts with school summer holiday, which starts middle of July). And the manga is already running for 22 years… and the release schedule has become very slow in the last decade. So we might not get a full year in-story. Maybe it ends with Yotsuba starting school in April. That way we at least get all four seasons.
