So I'm guessing the mother abandoned them because she had no money to raise them. Then over the years she managed to make a fortune, but she doesn't have the nerve to reunite with the daughters she abandoned. So she hired a middle-man to approach them instead and she's really the person financing this "program"

I wonder where this will go, imo it would be a banger if it wasn't CGDCT and has some drama and dark shit behind it. Like intentionally abandoning the quadruplets and it's part of an experiment.
But I don't think it's that type of manga, I'm enjoying it so far.

I'm guessing that the mother made money by separating the girls to be part of an experiment and is ashamed of herself. Probably she had some interaction with Shizuki and that is the reason that she seems so against the idea of being family and why the mother won't come to see them despite maybe wanting to.
