Really biting my tongue here because I don't want to accidentally teach them how to do their job better. I feel like we can close the book on "these jackholes are scammers" and it would be really neato if someone could get on pestering MD staff about expediting the removal of this group, their work, and anything similar in the future.

Then everybody can just relax in the afterglow of knowing that a bunch of pricks who may be affiliated with organized crime or an oppressive regime came to town to try and scam people, and for their trouble they got lectured really fucking hard about how sniping is terrible manners.

First of the pictures doesn't show anything at all... Just a leg lying on a bed and a bag of infusion... I'm getting infusions every two months, it's nothing that actually show any proof of serious condition or expensive treatment. I don't see any visible injury or bandages so I'm guessing leg is not broken as well.

I think I'm speaking in name of many people here. This app is lot of people's sacred ground and place to relax, we don't want scammer from unverified sources with no history to ruin it here.

As a victim of scam of some kind, I'm strongly recommending to wait with potential donations until they show a solid proof of legitimacy. Which is in this case only in history of their previous work in my opinion.

They must have thought they could have a go at a successful heel run: They read the room and realized the cheapest possible heat on this site is sniping medium-popular series (that specifically require conveniently little redrawing) with AI-polished MTL crap. There's a few mistakes that make it pretty clear that the people doing the work aren't actually reading the series they're "translating," so if that's how they're gonna be, I'm hoping someone will, in fact, prevent them from posting here.

I don't really think that trying to engage them in good faith is going to get anyone anywhere - this is just a job to these people. A job where they lie. Poorly.

It is just poor taste to try and get money by taking your private translation to a public platform. Especially when it already has an active group working it.

In my humble opinion, asking for money regardless of the purpose is no different than those groups who release some chapters on MD only to tell people that they can read the rest on their platform for money.

I just want MD to take a firm stance against people asking for money especially when they just snipe existing works to promote their own business so to speak. Be it pay for the remaining chapters on their site or joining their platform. Regardless if they were Americans, Russians, English, or even Fr*nch.

As it will lead a race to the bottom by groups who will work on sniping bigger series to make money and create a hostile environment. And worst case scenario would lead to people abandoning the platform as no one wants to upload to a site that would redirect traffic to other groups and readers would get frustrated with multiple releases of the same chapter.
