I'm more amazed by how many people he's feeding without help.In hindsight it is pretty amazing what Shuri has done without a permanent kitchen.
It’s not impossible of course, but must have taken much more effort to set up and prep everything. Especially the temperature and humidity control when he has to ferment or even age food.

For things like cream stew and other large batch foods, I can kind of see it working OK, but for things like Hamburg steak, which requires attention to individual portions, it's hard for me to imagine him being able to pull that off with out a least a few kitchen helpers. When I worked at a restaurant and we did catering, we mostly served stuff that could easily be mass produced, like pasta salad or racks upon racks of ribs (we did 200 racks of ribs one time, and even working multiple pans of ribs into a convection oven, it still took forever given the 2-hour cook time per batch); the one time we had to do vegan burgers, it took one person multiple hours just to portion out enough individual patties out into ring molds for the portions needed, and that was before any cooking on a pan or a grill was done.
The idea that Shuri can make not only three hot meals for an entire army by himself every single day, but also have time to make individual specific dishes that specific members especially enjoy makes me think the guy is a Time Lord, because there's no way he has time to prep and cook three meals a day in bulk for an army and still has time leftover to do things like Hamburg steak and fried fish and still have time to sleep. It makes me think the author has never worked in a high-volume kitchen.
on the web novel this issue will be much more talk about slightly here on Ahrius' chapter as well as another Captain's chapter, even last chapter I remember Shuri asking for more chefs but currently no one is available
I remember him asking for them and there not being any, which is why I'm saying I find it hard to believe he's able to do all of this by himself.
The mage unit is small because they can get paid more elsewhere; in previous chapters, the swordsman's shown to have way more subordinates.Like we just found out the mage team is just 4 people. So it could be that he's only feeding 30-50 people max which is a lot of people to feed but he could be doing batch meals for everyone but the higher ups (they get individual meals on occasions).
This author's style seems to be telling a story from the MC's perspective, then reexamining it in the next chapter from the POV of whichever other character was the most involved. This seems like it happened before chapter 7...
that's how it is in the LN too apparently tho i imagine it's meant to be read multiple chapters at once lolThis author's style seems to be telling a story from the MC's perspective, then reexamining it in the next chapter from the POV of whichever other character was the most involved.
