Can't read the raw so buying them is kind of dumb (also shipping would be more expansive than the books themselves) and honestly I couldn't even afford a fifth of what I'm reading.
I also prefer reading things in english, which is something that I just can't have "locally" in a country that does not speak it.
If there was a netflix of mangas containing everything that I read and more I'd totally sub tho, it's sad not being able to reward either the artist or translators :/

No, I don't really buy manga. I do have some doujin collection, but not serialized manga.

I guess this'll have an appeal to some people, but overall it's just more work. I doubt people will buy new stuff when they can't read it.
I can see buying a copy of the serialized manga that has been scanlated, but not the ones that hasn't been scanlated.

At the moment, I'm only keeping tabs on one publisher - for one series - because I don't have time to keep track of more. A list of upcoming official translations might help encourage impulse buys.

To be frank, never.
I usually just grab the Japanese title and search it in my favorite sites instead of clicking the links in MD.
Maybe because not all series have EBJ links (and the site has been acquired into Yahoo EBJ anyway).

Not sure, but it should be barely 3 digits (in USD).

I do buy manga. Some of them in english and some in native.
I have a bookshelf for manga. As i've read all of them before buying they mainly look pretty.
From time to time i re-read them or friends borrow some.

Like i said economy is shit in my country and i'm not wealthy.
I buy them in uncomplete sets and fish for single mising volumes to finish them.
That way i pay 'bout 4$ per volume.

For the most part, I either go through BookWalker or whenever Humble Bundle provides a manga bundle. I don’t spend a lot, but when there’s a good deal I’m more likely to check something out.

Maybe an idle suggestion - like MangaPlus, would it work if you highlight series which aren’t being scanslated because they’ve already been licensed? It may help people by showing what series AREN’T on MangaDex that they can check out. For instance, Dungeon of Black Company has three volumes released in English while LH Scans dropped the series a while ago. Maybe highlight those as “you can’t get free scans of those, so just bite the bullet and purchase it” series?

I'm "regular" customer of CDJapan and BOOK☆WALKER.

3+ artbooks and 10+ CD per year from CDJ.

2-3 volumes per month from BW, BUT only when it's 70-80% discount. I see no reason to pay full retail price for mediocre quality digital release. And 30% of retail price seems reasonable for 80% of BW releases.

I don't think adding links will affect my buying habits. I tend to buy manga I finish and like in bulk on Amazon JP / EN depending on if they're officially licensed in English or not. There are a few Japanese bookstores (Kinokuniya, etc.) in my area and that's where I buy single volumes of still publishing manga I follow. I mostly use them for display and collection but I do sometimes read the Japanese volumes as well. As for how much I've spent on manga, probably around $800?

Would I? Good question. I had to use Google to buy my official translations of Hinamatsuri. I still need to get the Komi-san translations, and Amazon, FWIW, seems to be the most reliable. The key is to make sure that the links you post are in the languages the reader needs. Hinamatsuri, For examle is in Volume 16 in Japan, but there are only 3 volumes (officially) translated into English. Komi-san has 14 volumes but the official English translation only has 1 volume available and 1 due out next week.

Yeah, it'd be a good thing, but you'd almost need to hire someone full time to handle keeping things up to date, and that might not be worth the pay. I used to use Amazon links on my page, but it didn't work out too well due to low traffic on my site. I ended up spending more time updating amazon links for new products than I did on page development. (Humor page, if you must know) I think you'd be good as your traffic is better: but you'll basically need to design a database with the various products (Manga, Blu-Ray/DVD, Figures, Clothes, and don't forget convention tickets!) You have a Niche market (manga) but a lot of products you can offer. Look to VIZ for ideas.

One key would be to make sure that you DON'T use the click bait come-on. Amazon runs a special deal on a manga to their Amazon Prime customers, don't just say you can get [product] for X% off: put the blurb as You Can Save X% off [product] with Amazon Prime Membership. Avoid the "fine print" and customers will be happier.

I subscribed to VIZ for awhile and visit MangaPlus once in a while (more often since you started linking to it) but never bought any volumes. Volumes make it an expensive hobby, so even if I were to buy some someday, it would be from a long-time favorite series like One Piece.

The links have helped a lot actually. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have realized that we had entered the golden age of official English translations. I have spent about $400 to $500 in the past few months. But this is mainly for collection and as a thank you to the authors since I have already read everything I bought online.

I'll be honest, I haven't, but allow me to clarify.

I actually spend a lot on manga through Amazon, used to through EBJ and CDJapan (before moving to Japan/EBJ becoming kinda terrible when Yahoo bought it). I also buy things on Kobo/Rakuten, and if those aren't options on the site, I'd recommend you add them as well. They're another nice option. I just don't use the links here because I'm used to buying things without any incentive or prompts.

I've pushed for and praised the use of linking to stores on mangadex for a while because I imagine, unlike me, most are unaware of how easy it is to do. I'm thus glad that the options are made known to users. I think to make it the absolute best; aside from more store links, some sort of tutorial for basic sign up and purchasing could help people who look at Japanese websites and just immediately give up, even though it's really easy to understand.

I don't know how much I've spent. Definitely hundreds by this point, at least.

I do not follow any links provided here, so I don't buy anything from there. First of all, I dislike spending money on something that's not in my native language, German. I can't even read Japanese, so why buy that stuff? I did buy English translations on a few occasions, and I would certainly buy more, if the manga I'm interested in were not so horribly overpriced (looking at you, Fakku). Then, I don't like shopping online, anyway (exception: old out-of-stock manga that are unavailable through other means). There's a nice comic store not terribly far away where I buy all my phisical manga volumes, usually once a month. How much I spend really depends on what's released during that month. Usually about 50€, I guess? And no, I'm not interested in a list of upcoming releases.

On a side note, I happen to own 1500+ physical manga volumes and about a douzen or so artbooks, so I actually support the industry quite a bit~
