I know that this emperor is probably the ML but I'm seriously wishing he wasn't :( and thst the MC would end up with someone else who opposes the emperor and they can take him down.

Even though he hasn't been properly introduced yet I already hate him. And sure, since the MC got a second life it might be possible for her to make him change, but the shit we've seen about him so far just makes me dislike him even more so than most tortured-backstory-type male leads.

I might have to take a bit of a step back from this story then continue it once more chapters are out just because I feel like I'd be too upset to accept that Rupert guy's appearance in the story. But thanks so much for the translations!

Nah, fuck this guy.
Imma look it up, he can't be the male lead.
Edit: It seems he might be, although he doesn't deserve her at all.

They seriously need to overhaul the Prince's character if he'll be ML, something like in Abandoned Empress.

Ok I lost hope.
Can’t wait to see how author will brainwash us with his circumstances so we can forgive him

only saving grace for emperor being the ml is that he didn't emotionally and physically abuse her like the dude in abandoned empress

not that killing her whole family is any good but at least he didn't abuse her for years

Woo this manga talks about something that has been on my mind for so long, why did no characters ever think this new life is just something they're dreaming of lol

Her entire family has dark hair but she’s towheaded. Adopted?

Also, fucking emperor. I hope she poisons him to death.

I understand where you are coming from on her being a someone grieving. However I disagree that a grieving person cannot think rationally or make conscious decisions they know can have a huge impact on their life.

I, however, still cannot see how we can blame the ml for her asking for her own execution. Should he have possibly talked with her and asked her if that's really what she wanted? Sure. Was he also the emperor and she hated him and probably wouldn't have changed her mind? Very high possiblity on the second part.
In the end we cannot blame him for deciding to grant her her wish.

I don't know how to add spoiler tags as I don't usually like to add comments or give my take, I just wanted to let people know that the ml isn't a horrible monster and his reasons are actually very solid.

P. S.
Anyway, someone posted a spoiler in the main comment section explaining what I couldn't because I lacked the knowledge on how to use spoilers.
They encapsulate why the ml did what he did.

That is all.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood what you meant by the grieving part. But I still stand by what I said. As I have experience with this. However, everyone is different and my experience and your experience could be completely different.

I am posting this follow up, just as a follow up, as I just remembered this. I don't know if you've read the manhwa The Villainess Lives Twice, but in that story the villainess also does horrible things to the ml, just like the ml took away everything from the fl in this one.
The difference is in that one we see everything from the villainess's perspective, so we get to see why she did the thing she did.

While here we see things from only the fl perspective and thus don't fully grasp why the ml did what he did.
Which is why I think it is extremely unfair to judge him and think he is horrible.

Especially since when someone does something wrong to us we tend to see them in the most negative light possible, seeing everything they do with a sinister intent. Which is what is happening here.

But the thing here is, this is her second chance at life and the ml hasn't done all these horrible things yet, which is what this second chance is for, for the fl to change the future and for her to learn more about the ml and his redemption.

I apologize if you think I am being aggressive or any other negative impact you may perceive from me. I just have a very hard time expressing the things i want the way I want to, hopefully you'll understand.

P. S.
I also think it's safe to say that my perspective and yours are different as I have read spoilers and you have probably not, which gives me the insight I need to form my opinion, while if you haven't read any spoilers all you have to go off of is what you know so far.
Not that that is a bad thing, it is just why we have different opinions on the matter.

P. P. S.
I think the authors here are very much to blame for this, in their need to make a big reveal to their plot, they postpone the real reason the ml is portrayed as a villain, I can only assume to keep the tension high, but in doing so they also alienate many readers who are disgusted by the villain being the ml.
I think in stories such as these, the author should at the very least give us the prologue from the ml POV and show us at least a small crumble as to why he is doing what he's doing.
I also think it's very unfair in manhwa of this genre that we always get a very clear reasoning as to why the fl villainess does the things she does and why everyone hates her and she should die, but when it comes to the ml villains, they only show it from the fl perspective making the audience hate him and makes people drop the manhwa.

Sorry I ranted so much, but I hope you and anyone else reading this have a better understanding of my side and why I think the way I do.

I will seriously be pissed off if the author makes up a dumb excuse and have her fall for the Emperor/Prince

Especially when we see this bastard's face as he has her on trial for execution.

The emotions on her face would not allow for love.
The saying goes, time heals, well people can still suffer trauma for decades and intense hatred cannot be overcome by love in just a few years.
If you really hate someone, as time pass, you still hate them only a little less.

I hope this goes the route of the Mc changing him and turning him down if the piece of shite ever tries to propose.

Edit->
@WeepingFlower
Difference being, Tia felt bad for doing the stuff she did and even expected her own brother to sell her out.
Tia tries to repent by using some ancient magic and ends up rewinding time to Right her Wrongs.

This guy was shite and the look on his face shows pleasure/amusement, someone else has to changes him when he had the potential to do all this sick shite just because of a bad childhood.

This is why I say I blame the authors for trying to do these big reveals that are so unnecessary. They make it so hard on themselves because the readers are upset with the way the story goes on.

The prince/ml, has a very good reason for doing what he does. He is justified in his reasoning. The issue here is we see everything only through the fl eyes and when something bad is happening to you, you tend to see it differently than what it actually looks like.
In this case, his expression during everything. Which again, I still blame the authors for, because they purposefully do it to grab the audience only to lose them afterwards when they find out the person they have dedicated so much time hating is not someone who is the ml.
Completely unnecessary if you ask me, a story can be just as good without this huge reveal that is supposed to make you gasp in shock.

Anyway.
He isn't shite, I promise you, I can't say more, cause I'm still a loser who doesn't know how to use the spoiler tags, but if you go in the main comment section and read a couple of the comments with spoiler tags you'll find the one where they perfectly summaries why I have such a stronge stance on this.
I'm sorry I can't direct you to the exact comment, but I forgot their name and the site is currently very wonky for me, keeps crashing.

P. S.
I purposefully mentioned Tia, because that's the unfair part in this, we get to see why Tia does what she does and her reasoning and everything, while here we don't get to see that and we are left to come to the conclusion that the prince is awful complete garbage.
But in reality, if the author did the exact same thing as on The Villainess Lives Twice we wouldn't be hating on the prince and we wouldn't be having this conversation.

P. P. S.
My net is better now so I went and found the comment, I won't post it of course. But the name of the comment poster is Ichigoeater, after you read their comment it's pretty obvious why everything happened the way it happened.

I won't say much about their romance, as I wasn't interested in reading about it and wanted to experience it, so I have no opinion on that and will have to see, but the ml is very much justified.
Of course, I cannot make you agree with me tho and even after reading that comment you still think the ml is a awful person, then that's also fine, we are allowed to have different opinions. I just don't think the ml deserves all the hate he gets because of this.

Found the comment, it makes him out to be less shite but still does not really justify murder of the whole family
Arrest on the wife could have happened, killing the father would have been fine, but burning down the house was childish.

Killing a mentally stressed out person who loss their family never makes you look good.
Still, a normal person would not fall in love.
