Yeah that was peak.Despite 3 pages just being mirrors of each other, that was an exciting duel. I love how a big portion of this duel was pretending to have big eye still.
If tsuboshiji used sp 1st effect he can't attack directly, besides Raien need to remove sp or it can chain herself to detonator effect and it will force cross regardless.Ok but raien played this like dogshit tho. Should've used hole thruster in the standby to clear chasma and dis pater. Outside of that, misused hand traps are disappointing but understandable. When tsuboshiji summoned sp, Raien had no reason to activate hole thruster as it forced nothing. But it's also the case that tsuboshiji would've been able to force it out if he used sp to banish it or cross. Of course the writer needed to set up the otk so they have to misplay. Also why did raien not make deto WITH star as material.
Deck construction here is baffling for both players.
The negation eff of the field spell of Ryzeal works ln resolution and does not start a chain. Really stupid card. The mind game of baiting the effect to prevent Big Eye was really nice.
On a side note, kinda new to YGO, but how can Raien chain on SP Little Knight Resolution? I thought you can't chain on the Resolution? Or is that specifically stated by the effect of Ryzeal Cross?
It is custom card level that is basically anti-chain blocking, also Raien said activate but cross doesn't actually activate, it just detach one material then negate whatever effect you want on their resolution, so you can't even stop the negation with something like ghost ogre. The mind game of baiting the effect to prevent Big Eye was really nice.

Star being material gives deto an extra pop. Secondly, deto can just pop the opponents card in chain and sp wont resolve (see sp rulings). Sp doesnt force cross unless you use the first ef to banish it.If tsuboshiji used sp 1st effect he can't attack directly, besides Raien need to remove sp or it can chain herself to detonator effect and it will force cross regardless.
Idk what star gonna do in that situation, it doesn't have xyz inheritance effects you know
Last page of chapter 72 explains his plays. He summoned Star Ryzeal AFTER making Detonator by detaching from Duodrive.Ok but raien played this like dogshit tho. The reason you dont see more than 2 mat detonators being made is because the trade off is making another xyz. It's fine to misplay like this if you're an average Timmy in plat in master duel. The alleged world champ should know better tbh. Playing mass driver is indeed poor deck construction, which I already mentioned. So is playing ogre but whatever.Last page of chapter 72 explains his plays. He summoned Star Ryzeal AFTER making Detonator by detaching from Duodrive.
Don't get me wrong, this is still a misplay (the idea of this line is that doing it in this way plays around Nibiru by keeping Cross live otherwise you can Nib on summon of Star, but this doesn't matter here because he drew Plugin and used Plugin to attack Mass Driver to Duodrive, so it would have been live anyways, the correct sequence would have been Plugin attach Mass Driver, then Star detach Sword to keep Mass Driver under Duodrive), but frankly, Ryzeal players almost never make more than a 2 mat Detonator. I've seen a great many TCG and Master Duel players just leave a random Node Ryzeal on field so it's not an unrealistic misplay.
As for not popping Chasma in Standby, I think it has 0 material, and it floats upon destruction, so the only meaningful pop was Dis Pater, and so he probably wanted to wait for a more profittable double pop even if it meant letting Dis Pater use its effect (which again, I don't think this is correct, but would be what my mind would jump to after seeing him hold it for main). In the other situation, he pops it in standby, Chasma floats, which he can either negate with Cross or let him get the extra body, which considering his goal of NOT letting him get to 2 7s, he probably negates, and now he's in the exact same situation (minus the Magnamut effect that didn't matter), Plasma Hole used, Cross used, 4 mat Detonator. Of course, you could argue he could not negate, let him get to a Rank 7 and Cross negate Big Eye (which he didn't have, but he would play assuming he did), but then that sets up for a potential Zeus line if he has it in ED (though that would cut off his ability to OTK, it would simplify the board state pretty heavily and setup for a board wipe with Here There be Dragons on the opponent's turn).
TL;DR, I don't agree with his plays, but I wouldn't call any of his misplays big, these are plays I could easily see someone making at a high level. Honestly, the most unrealistic thing about this Ryzeal player would probably be... playing Mass Driver.
