I think Yugami Kun is still commendable in his own ways. He does need to grow as a person and is lacking any form of tact, but as Chihiro slowly learns over the course of the series and starting with little snippets like this, he's someone who really tries his best, just not very socially aware or intelligent because of his ideals of being alone. As some people like to say: he's slightly autistic please be patient with him <3
