Thanks for doing this but there was a small correction someone made a little further down that thread. Yugami actually offers Momose 1/10th of his wallet and not 10 yen. It's hard to tell with these scans but he hands her a 500 yen coin. Sorry for the mistake

This is a pretty common practice in Japan, called shareikin. Something like reward money. You give a % of your wallet to the person who found it.
