I guess they really did call him there just so she could thank him in person.

Don't tell me Yuyu is joining the harem too.

Wow that dark reaction he gave them after that was really something the black hair girl could totally feel change in atmosphere. However I'm confused why he is so upset, is it because he's angry someone is trying to improve themselves while he is happy to be simping fan

I am unsure why hes acting like this in the manga... the reasoning hes offering is a bit empty, but i can sense why someone would feel annoyed or bad. He literally got dragged out of class to be thanked for OFFERING to help, waste of time. Literally even stopped him from leaving to give him some platitudes that she'll do better in the future, annoying and noone cares. Shes literally a stranger lawl.

What I could imagine is he got dark because he felt like he could fall for her, With his self worth now what it is he is feeling unworthy of such appreciation.

I think he's feeling that her thanks is not out of gratefulness but necessity, to comply with Shinomiya (the black haired girl), that's why he's annoyed. He feels like he came for nothing, if she hadn't said she dislike boys and just thanked him normally, he'd gotten off feeling delighted talking and being thanked by a cute girl, but here he just feels used. No one likes it when they find out they were being used. Something along those lines.

Except that previous girl Natsukawa states that he doesnt mind being used.

Hia reaction at the end is weird.

He is not annoyed, he is fucking pissed.

Late reply and sorry for the rant, but I was rereading and nobody said it here so I may as well.

He didn't mind being used in that case because she was mostly kind to him and he enjoyed being flirted with even knowing that it wasn't cuz she liked him. He could shut off his brain and just enjoy it in the moment. He was still troubled after the fact trying to figure out her real motive tho.

In this case, his interactions with her have been nothing but unpleasant. Sure, he enjoys her cute timidness at first, but the first time they met she was unnecessarily cautious of him, treating him like he's dangerous, and she just told him with a bright smile on her face that she dislikes men. Anyone would be hurt if a person who at the start of the conversation seems nice enough tells them they disliked them just for being a man, or for any intrinsic trait about them for that matter. Suddenly that timidness is no longer cute, now it just leaves a sour taste in his mouth.

It's a bit of an extreme exaggeration, but it's like she told him "men are trash... but you know I don't mean you when I say that of course haha!" Just because it's true that many acts of violence and abuse are done by men abusing their physical or social power over women, and knowing she was probably a victim of that kind of guy, it doesnt hurt any less to be lumped together with those men for those of us that are normal, empathetic people. And just saying or acting like you don't mean to lump someone into a group you view as dangerous doesn't change the fact that you are doing it.

And the cherry on top of it all is that she says she's doing her best to get over her aversion to men, but she didn't really do anything. The prez did all the hard work, and he was dragged around and forced to listen even though he clearly was uncomfortable, clearly said it was bothersome, and made several attempts to leave.

She apologized, but is it really an apology if you completely disregard the feelings of the one you're apologizing to? In that situation, unless he wants to come off like a jerk, isn't putting on a fake smile and acting greatful for that superficial apology laced with repulsion the only thing he can do?

Of course he's pissed, but he also feels shame for feeling pissed knowing she probably went through something terrible. He isn't even fully concious of how angry he is that she expressed hatred like that because his self concept has been utterly demolished at this point, it's like he conciously agrees with her that he's trash and he's concerned for her sense of safety if he were to express anger but completely abandoned his own emotional wellbeing, so he buries his anger instead of expressing it.

It's exactly like how he buries his sadness from being rejected by Natsukawa with words of disgust at the mere thought of dating him. He's been bottling it up over the years, but when that ball scared him, it's like his nervous system reset and he felt all that buried sadness and rejection. Unfortunately he chose to bottle it up again, but rather than ignore it completely he chose to stop pursuing her knowing he'd just have to bottle up more sadness with each rejection.

Yep, MC didn't like how she said she will work on talking with guys but still was around the prez.
I think i sunderstandble because gven her aversion to dudes asking for her to talk alone in a room would be too many steps at once.
But MC didn't like that mindset, the words she used or how she didn't made a effort to track him but asked the prez, as Code Orange explained above.
I personally think that this whole part was stupid as even if she realized his good intentions there was no need to do all of this to talk and say sorry.

And the bigger thing was that he wasn't the target, but rather an accessory to her trying to be seen improving herself to the prez. That's like being roped around to help with a group project and finding out your name is not even on it. The distaste for him is just the cherry on the top.

Yes, or somewhere around the less flattering range of average. Plain, forgettable, basic and someone you wouldn't call explicitly ugly, but who you would never think of when talking about attractive people. But as this is a mango, only (comically) evil people are allowed to have visibly unflattering visual traits and even the less picturesque elements have to be shown in as appealing way as possible, everyone is just pretty as a baseline and the story is rendered moot without a hefty separation between the text and the panels. Those are pretty much two different things to be considered separately. An average(?) good looking mc visually, but not within the story itself.

I get that people want to look at pretty things and all that, but I rest my case on the fact that it it really fucks with the narrative cohesion of this manga and fuckton of similar ones.

Yeah it's hard to imagine average in manga or manhwa because you need certain attractiveness for your MC/FMC.
