I know a lot of teachers and my brother-in-law is one, and according to them, no matter how much you respect your profession, working with children/teenagers is horrible and many of them only stay in the job for the salary and benefits. What makes the job itself horrible is sometimes not even the children themselves, but school rules, state laws, toxic school environment and the children's parents (basically, you are held accountable by the institutions and disrespected by the staff, children and their parents...and you can't do anything but apologize and say something like, "i'll do better next time"). Here in Brazil the number of 5y kids x teacher is 30/32 (lol)~:shamihuh:💦
Thks for the translation~
tbh even the salary is small and the only benefit beside lunch is like health insurance which not given at some school, too

Brazilian laws guarantee several benefits to public teachers, the starting salary is reasonable, the maximum hours allowed is 40h per week, with weekends/holidays off, paid vacations, annual salary increase, Christmas bonus, end of year bonus , transport/meal voucher, discount on cinema, opera, theater, some shows and events, and you receive financial assistance if you need to take time off work due to illness (emotional or physical); in high-level private schools, the benefits are equal or greater, but in both cases, the work devours your mental health~ :nyoron:

ah dont make me start about my country lol. i work on private school and beside my salary thats under $100 a month, we dont get health insurance benefit so we have to gauge it out of our own pockets. everyday you cant come to work, the salary is cut off. there are no transport money too so we have to spend around $10 every month for gas. no discounts, no paid vacations. the only benefit we got is lunch meal... and free wifi i guess lmfao :kek:

Ohh,so this time it's her coworker who's part of the problem instead of the kids like she's feared...
Taking care of kids looks very stressful, full time mom really don't get enough respect

I once teach bunch of kindergarten and elementary kids, loud, rowdy, and stressful. Fight break out immediately when you lost focus on them for a moment. Tho can't be denied they are cute, unlike middle schooler who only gave me stress without even being cute. I'll choose elementary children rather than middle schooler in any day, but preferably the older one who can handle their toilet matters already. I am NOT gonna clean someone else child ass while being paid less than minimum wage (my country treat teacher like shit). Actually prefer to not being teacher at all

That is funny. I knew/used to work with teachers.

My experience is most teachers prefer elementary school students and high school students, with middle schoolers, being the worst. A lot of the time they are considered walking smelly horny sociopaths by teachers. Hyenas if the students do not like you.

There is a reason why students middle school aged in different countries are separated from elementary school and high school students. I've heard it is a bit of a safety / lawsuit prevention thing.

they do; BUT

-you have to go to the hospital/clinic to get a prescription ( and pay for it)
-it's 9 000 yens

plus i'm pretty sure most of thoses kids have no clue what is plan B, how it works, and where to get it, don't forget than sex ed in japan is dogshit, they roughty know thas they sound use condoms, and that's about it
Hate to say it, if you have an issue with declining birthrates... making it harder to get well...

Will be interesting to see, what role her having a kid of her own will play in this arc, author wouldn't have thrown that in for no reason.

Thank you for working hard translating the manga!

I would love to help out with proofreading. I have some experience in English LQA, as a teacher (very topical for the current arc lol) and currently work as a content editor.

Let me know if you would like any assistance with the manga!

hmm... I kind of disagree with his guidance this time.
Students choosing VA and idol route? Yeah, that's such a cutthroat competition career. It's a good thing to make them think twice about their choice.
Even with the train guy, he only asked him to be prepared, not to reconsider.
That should be also applied here. That being nursery teacher is not as easy as she thought, especially when she only saw it from her younger perspective. But I wouldn't say "think again, please"
He wants them not to think just from the idealistic side, which is what he does to all of his students so far. That's why he told her to 'reconsider' after showing her the disadvantages of becoming a nursery teacher. Like with the male idol, the teacher doesn't say anything more if the students have made up their mind.

Well sure, but "reconsider" and "think again" definitely not the word I'd use to suggest students to prepare themselves.
Because I really don't see any problem with the job of nursery teacher.
It won't be as easy as they think, sure, but what job isn't.
Like I said, if it is idol or VA route, well, that is not a stable job, so there's actual risk and "skill gambling" involved there.

I don't know much about the job of a nursery teacher, but I think if it's a job that pays a normal monthly salary, then so be it.
Just lay down the facts and statistics, and wish you good luck.

To me, "reconsider" is more a kin to "preventing". Something that "I don't think it is a good idea to pursue".

Yeah I'm sorry but even I wouldn't dream of being a teacher in the country I live in. And that's not even getting into the fact of state governments entertaining the idea of fully AI learning in schools; which I believe is just a absolutely terrible idea in the long run.

Children need to be around their peers, people similar in age to them, as they develop. They ought to be guided and taught by people with life experience, not software that has no soul.

Thank you for the translation.

I'm not sure if this is me going for semantics, but I think the teacher's stance has always been the same: "Don't pursue your dreams."

He never said "Don't be a nursery teacher," or "Don't be an idol," but always "Please think again if you want to pursue your dream." Even after he met them again years in the future, he never said a word about "You shouldn't have become an idol" or something like that, he merely said "You should give up on your dream." which in a way has the same meaning as 'reconsider' imo
