Lol. Even sensei is shocked. Yeah I think it's horrible decision. For every one genius who made it after dropping out of school, you got thousands who ended up failing and destroyed their life.
real. i do think its important for someone to enjoy their youth and prepare for their career moderately while still have fun. they literally are still a kid :nyoron:

...BURILLIANTU.

Your have a man's face now.

Yes. That's it, Shotaro kun. That's the correct answer.

THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG ANSWER, ONLY CHOICES THAT YOU CAN MAKE FOR YOURSELF AND NO OTHER CAN MAKE FOR YOU.

Shotaro kun... your shogi... have you found it?

And I picture myself really buff and ripped while saying these things, looking at the reflection of the pale moon on the rippling water and saying something really profound about that.

Is dropping out permanent or something? Can't he go back to school later? If so, I don't see what the big deal is. The shogi promotion has an age limit IIRC, so it makes sense for him to pursue it while he still has time.
yes withdrawal means permanen dropout, i'm pretty sure. also the limit is literally up to 26yo. bro have 9 years left to catch up, yet he decide to withdraw. i think thats a result of keeping your negative feelings to yourself :qq:

real. shouldve gone to psychiatrist or something. one time he said he wont go to college, suddenly he decide to withdraw from school. 100% unwell mentally. feel bad for him. :fml:
(experienced that thing first hand. not recommended)

my hair's slightly longer (tho i buzzed the back a bit short now and then) and i've had no issues air drying. tho it's fairly warm where i am to where i could step out in noon and just absorb the sun heat that way lol (tho i tend to shower in evenings)

i'm sure there's strategy to it but books and comp simulations aside, there'd surely be a limit of combos you could do while playing as opposed to something physical like a sport

i can't imagine being passionate enough about something to straight up drop out versus having a rich family or attempting like a food truck/small business with friends

At least he didn't get involved with drugs (yet?) tho not like we saw him really attend class so i would've expected to see him skip or sleep during some classes/reading shogi books/doing practice matches in his head

I mean they are in jp so makes sense even sensei is shocked although i would think something like that needs parental approval (tho i have heard that middle school is fine but high school isn't tech required if you wanna work but other than a konbini job or manual labor/lucking out, i think there'd still be ppl looking down on you for not going versus even if you don't end up going to a 'good' uni)

Is the tl note for seifuku missing? thought it was just the female uniform unless it's a shogi specific term b/c i don't recall seeing any female shogi players

well its a rainy day so i guess the hmidity make it wet longer and can cause you to catch a cold

yeah seifuku is basically school uniform. implying if you lose while wearin it then it also might put your school to shame. i think that also affect his decision making resulting in the withdrawal, tho Shotaro didnt show it on his face :aquadrink:

I guess i never had to deal with humidity in the south, or it'd be more appealing b/c 'dry' heat tends to give me nosebleeds, not that i'm going out on runs/long walks after washing my hair lol but yeah i just generally use a towel not to drip tho i do wash my hair more now than when i was in high school like every other day versus once a week tho luckily not too dry or oily either way (tho i've only ever caught cold from shared germs versus being physically cold. maybe sniffly if i wake up too early but nothing that lasts too long)

And yeah i do remember a rule that ppl can't have part time jobs or ppl tend to wear uniforms everywhere and have to behave a certain way but it's not as if his school is known for shogi but like with indoor shoes i'm surprised there wouldn't be a changing room for ppl to not be in their uniforms after time outside of school

yeah jp humidity is pretty high. i envy the south/north because its drier bcz here the humidity is never lower than 75% :nyoron:

well about uniforms i think its cultural. in jp its common to wear uniform everywhere after school; at karaoke, shop, malls, parks... usually meaning they havent go home yet. they kinda proud with their identity, too. its another case if they have part time jobs tho

it's hard to say where things will go from here. he's looking for a different way, has a good if obsessive mindset regarding putting in effort and not being frustrated. He's doing what people who reached the top did. The questions are, will he be the one and if he does will he be truly happy

he reminds me of the Meijin character in Lion who can barely function as a human being at this point
