Sensei is like: "Hold up, I know my gimmick is to make you give up on your dreams, but at least don't give up school."

I did expect something like that in another arc like "I can't afford school so i have to drop out and do a bunch of part time jobs instead" b/c i imagine even if train fare is relatively cheap it's prolly still pricey to go to a school even if it's not a 'private' one

The word "genius" really gets thrown around too much, if you're good in one field of life and that one only, you shouldn't qualify for it.

Oh man, out of all the students so far, this one is the one that has me worried the most! Even the idol scumbag knew that it was important to have a safety net in case by finishing school before going pro!!!

Mother would get very angry once she knew her son decided to drop out bruh

Depends on the mom, at least he picked Shogi and not a dumb job like the idol kid but other than supportive "follow ur dreams" kinda parent I'd think she'd be hesitant versus the ones that somehow get super rich and successful instantly

If not "do what you want just don't drag ur brother into this" bc I think the other sibling would be more hesitant

I guess the tournament winnings must be high bc I can't imagining games happening often enough (other than side betting lol I know gambling isn't legal in jp tech but doesn't stop ppl) to where you wouldn't also need a second /"real" job

Tho now I'm just expecting an erratic eccentric "genius" that's like 12 (unless there's a min requirement) to come outta nowhere who's never played it before to just suddenly win all the tournaments outta sheer "luck" or some bs lol
