It's always fun to see someone's dream shattered
better to happen when ur younger than you being some middle aged salary worker and throwing everything away on a risk (tho there are some 'inspirational' stories like that working out like quitting some dead end job to make a food truck/restaurant) tho ppl run pretty well on spite, idk how many teachers would be like "your dream won't work out" but i'm wonder how many elementary schoolers are like "i wanna be an astronaut" and it being something that happens
interesting for shogi to have a 'style' b/c it's still a game with rules as opposed to a more artistic leaning career (tho other than making money off tournaments or being like a tutor, i wonder how long one can maintain a 'career' of it versus it being some weekend hobby/side hustle. tho i think i vaguely remember seeing an ad on Nico [JP yt] for some shogi livestream, so i guess some ppl can still make money off of it but i prolly wouldn't pay for a 'ticket' to a shogi game/tournament versus like a stadium tho i'm not rly into sports haha)
