I don't think this artist wants to make a battle shounen, he literally started as an artist just to draw porn. Look at his twitter and other one shots.

I think the best example of this is Negima, artist originally wanted to make a battle shounen but was forced to make an ecchi by the editor because of the success with Love Hina, but it turned into a battle shounen after a while.
