Yeah, as mentioned before what MangaPlus posted was the exact same thing Jump+ did. They just did a cheeky joke because they couldn’t say “buy the rest in the volume version” because… the volume version isn’t available outside of Japan.

Okay that makes more sense and I partly rescind my former comment. That said this just means they’re really really shitty at basic marketing. All they had to do was say something along the lines of “please buy the volume when its available in your country”. They also need some type of community tab ir mailing list where they can update users about that kind of stuff. Straight up telling people “we censored this because we thought you couldn’t handle it and just waste your time with an incomplete extra chapter, haha funny joke laugh” is how you make lifelong enemies. Its admittedly not even a big deal but the type of thing people get petty and pissed about. They’d have been better off cutting the chapter entirely and just uploading a notice the volume will be translated and released soon internationally with bonus chapters.

That was all? Nothing even happened. From the whole chapter censorship I was expecting more than a nip slip. Like him actually rubbing lotion on her sensually or dry humping or something. Shounen anime casually gets more stimulating than that? I still don’t get why people make such a big deal of female nipples being seen (or even glimpsed) at all whereas male nipples are treated like watching grass grow. Like what is the difference? Skin tight clothes would have been more sensual than that or thighs with how artists usually draw them.

Ironically, the only reason I care is because they teased snd then censored it on MangaPlus. I originally assumed it was to encourage people to buy the volume, but they didn’t have a call to action or say where you could buy it. So now I’m guessing they literally just censored it for one panel of nude breast? They could have at least given the excuse “we don’t feel comfortable sexualizing an underaged schoolgirl”.

The difference is that female nipples are more sensual... male nipples are kinda useless. It's an organ related to child birth (feeding the child) which, for most cultures was considered one of the most sacred and magical things humans could do....

That said, when some males are shirtless, it's kinda gross.... so I honestly don't have a problem with covering up females... but do believe that we need to hide male nipples instead....

That said, as a previous post stated, they really do release the thing on the volume... but the volume isn't being released in the West (this series isn't big enough for that yet -they'll probably, maybe do a box set release if this gets big enough).

Well, I personally thought it was an obvious joke... and frankly, I feel they are getting more ill feelings because they are an official business intruding in a fan group that translated out of love for free... and honestly, they might not ever actually sell the translated volume unless if it's actually popular enough to make it worth printing (though they'd probably sell the e-book... maybe).

Well, I personally thought it was an obvious joke... and frankly, I feel they are getting more ill feelings because they are an official business intruding in a fan group that translated out of love for free... and honestly, they might not ever actually sell the translated volume unless if it's actually popular enough to make it worth printing (though they'd probably sell the e-book... maybe).

Wait are they not going to translate and sell the volume? I assumed that was a given because they were an official business. I can certainly see a lot of ill feelings if they both aren’t planning to translate and sell the volume or do its specials/bonuses in full.

Judging by just the top comments I saw on MangaPlus I don’t think it was an obvious enough joke. Generally for stuff like this its best not to joke at all and just say straight up its a volume only thing or whatever is applicable (though I wonder if they bother reading the comments at all because it’s pretty much the same when they censor anything).

I’d legit be fine with it being shameful (to the same level) for everyone to cover up their upper body/chest. I neither want to see or show it in public.

So I guess I said it in my other reply, but I think it’d have been a much better case if they said that or even didn’t post it at all. Above all the idea of posting a part of a chapter to tease something you can’t even sell or don’t plan to is general bad business practice. I’m also sure if they posted a call to action asking readers to show support for a western volume release by posting on social media or something that’d have been successful or at least gotten people talking.
