It's kinda funny that Riku's got such an overbearing and attentive mother and yet she seemingly hasn't realized he's gay? I guess the heteronormative bias is strong, especially in her generation, but Riku does not seem like a good liar or especially good at hiding his feelings. This indicates that perhaps he's far more emotionally open around in the Yuri household than he is otherwise.
Unrelated: I reread the series so far a couple days ago and two thoughts from that:
1) I wonder if Ban's name might be Van instead? He owns his handyman business with his brother, the business is named VH, and Vs and Bs are interchangeable in Japanese iirc. I don't think we've ever learned his brother's name but I'd bet it starts with H.
2) God Michiru is such a good character. Yuri gets surprised by how much stronger Michiru is than her first impression implied, with her leaving her abusive husband despite having kids, and we see that play out especially in her interactions with Riku as she flexibly matches his rude behavior to a stranger and snaps back at him with the same tone he snaps at her, like when she refused to name Minon's father, and pointed out Riku has no right to demand such a thing. While Riku treats basically everyone except Goro with some level of contempt, Michiru instead gives what she gets, matching Riku's contempt and Yuri's seriousness at first and then her relatively earnest respect later.

It'd make sense that his mother hasn't noticed, if I'm remembering correctly he only started having gay relationships when he moved to Tokyo and his mother has stayed in their home town, so she hasnt had the chance to see

Started reading this, and as the shit keeps piling up, I thought that it would be trivial to just end the vegetable where he lay.

Dude's nice, but he has piled on lie after lie, all while taking advantage of the one person he doesn't show any kindness at all to.
