It's sorta an issue of associating lighter skin with "more pure" femininity that we see here and there."
It kinda is part of the dysphoria the MC might possess.
If it is Dysphoria, then it isn't a pure gender dysphoria, but also a skin colour dysphoria, purity dysphoria, appearance dysphoria, etc.
He(I think I can use that, given that both his old and isekaied self are male) has the ideal of a Yuri heroine, it's more so that particular fantasy he is and was into.

Oh yeah, I definitely recognize how it can be, like socially pressured to create an element of dysphoria in someone. I've seen videos on how it's an entire industry with like, skin bleaching and the like and how it's casually pressured. Just wish more stories let the ideal femme gal have darker skin like the MC's body I guess. Would be nice to like share the love, you know? (Though this is still the first chapter so, idk, maybe the only tanner character in the story won't be the MC's original body.)

I can see your logic about the pronoun thing, like as a trans woman myself I've considered where the lines are on referring to someone if they don't personally use those pronouns to view or refer to themselves. In cases like these it's sort of greyer because, well, the MC's not real after all lol. I think the reason a lot of other trans people in the comments are getting worked up is because, if you write a character based on the experiences, imagery, personality, etc. of transgender people, it's kind of hard to not see them as... well it probably also doesn't help that a lot of trans' people's experiences go through a period where they compulsively say "Oh well I'm not REALLY trans I'm-[blank]" over and over again lol.

Cause, like, a lotta trans women have to come to accept that they can still be women with or without "the junk" typically associated with being a guy. So to a lot of us what it feels like is just seeing a gal going through that "arc" so to speak, cause... honestly it feels like that's currently the only hangup for the MC? Hell it's the first chapter and despite that she literally was about to go back to 100% presenting engaging and hoping to referred to as a girl in school, you know? isudhksjhf.

I guess since she's a fictional character and the hurdle feels pretty in line with trans experiences, there's this feeling of not wanting to misgender her... ahead of time? What is it called, pre-ordering? There's terms for this I swear siudhfsjk.

I think that's why I brought up Stop Hibari Kun in this convo cause, like, her author refers to her as a guy and he/him despite in universe she wants/identifies/presents as a girl despite having a body like the MC in this story. Hell she even hangs out with trans guys who take testosterone and apparently that's not enough lol. So a lot of people in this thread are also accustomed to stories where for all intents and purposes it's just a trans gal but she's still treated as a guy regardless.

I expected this to be a new trap manga after finding it in crossdressing section, didn't expect the discussion like this though.
LMAO

Anyways aside from reincarnation and isekai, it looks to be your standard OTOBOKU like scenario
(femboy goes to all girls high school and must hide his identity). Considering the trope I doubt the author would go the other way.

I dunno about transgender stuff. That’s pretty difficult to understand on a fundamental level.
But I do know that for many people, the grass is often greener on the other side.
And it’s way too early to be speculating things.
At the end I wish a fulfilling journey for the protagonist, and may this person be happy at the end.
(Just saying that this:(https://mangadex.org/title/2c2a45bc-42c8-4d62-995c-bd5523642ba8/shimanami-tasogare) is also here. May provide some insight on the topic even if I can’t personally.)

Oh, don’t know why are people so eager to argue what the isakai’d person is supposed to be? All is in the eye of the beholder. If we’re reading this, then we can probably all agree that girls in fics like these are similar to symbols of nice things, like fairies,🧚 right? Is it such a crime to want to become a nice and pretty thing?

I have no idea what is coming or how this is going to play out but I really hope it’s going to be good.
No problem. I'll just apply my future sense that I got from that time that I spent isekaied. (Nice to be back home, BTW!)

... I see. Interesting. ... Let me summarize... (In the spoiler, of course.)

This guy's life is not going to be easy.

There. Saved you from the suspense! YW.

Really gotta love the dichotomy of the Mangadex comments section. Just read one manga where the FMC brings her daughter and pushes themselves onto the MC in order to live at his house, and so many people in that comment section were defending it with comments like "it's a comedy" "stop projecting you incels, it's a comedy not real life". Now we have the opposite of that where people are projecting real life topics into a comedy manga, but now it's fine because it aligns with what they believe.

Anyways, interested to see where this goes. If anything, purely because I wanna see who is correct here. Is the MC actually trans, or does he just have a romanticized version of being a woman because of his trauma of people rejecting him cause he looks mean along with reading yuri? There's a movie I saw recently that can be related to this, and I'm curious if this will follow the same theme as the movie.

It's always so funny to read comments like these, because of how unaware they are about the irony of claiming I can’t speak for anyone, while trying to speak for me.

I bet you wouldn't say what you did if I mentioned that my experience comes from trying to help a classmate that ended up regretting his transitioning. Him trying to go back to "normal", finding his chances at a "normal life" bleak and committing suicide by overdosing at 23 years old.

I was with him through all that, though I met him near the end of university. He even managed to graduate, hoping it would help.

Yes, I don't speak for "every human being and their individual experiences and existences". Nobody can.

You're right that I "don't know the lived experience of anyone but [myself]". But I sure as hell know what my friend went through.
It's incredibly ironic that they're getting onto you for pushing your lived experience onto people while they themselves can be considered pushing their lived experience onto the MC.
