I'm not too familiar with it, but it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the english used in the translation.

If this were an isekai power fantasy, they probably would have declared their independence and split off from the nation already.

so i wonder if those monster were man-made? maybe someone of the six arch-mages. or someone else close in power.
to have such a den be ignored like that, it must be some dirty they are trying to hide.
it shouldn't be they simple thinking it is too hard to clean. because letting a den of monster like that free close by could cause even more trouble. even if they couldn't save the people, limited time or whatever, after 10 years or more they should have been able to stop by and clean up, even if this place is a bit farther. really weird how the monster were left alone. they even ignored the whole existence of the city. did someone not like that chief leader or someone else from there? were they considered an enemy... i am really curious now, but it will take so long to be explained Dx
