@Levanah then is not really worth it, he is getting more trouble for just experiencing a school life, he is less of a student and more like a lab rat for the major powers of the school.

He had a nervous breakdown due to not having any battle experience. Or thereabouts. At least that's what good old Google Translate is telling me.

Also, even if Asley decided to accept the forced arrangements for the sake of Rina, at least he could put out some terms and conditions, it's not like he's in a position where he's not valued and unique to make negotiations. Given his knowledge and talents (even strong enough to defeat rank A monsters as mentioned), he's so valued by Irene that he could actually make some demands and they'd agree to that, the blackmail was a tactic to pressure him, albeit a bad decision.

What's with this new trend in manga recently...
"Oh, so he's so powerful that an actual nuclear bomb is like popping a zit in comparison. Let's bully him to our side, I'm sure nothing bad will ever happen"
And those that do this crap are usually supposed to be "intelligent".

Well, our MC wanted to stay connected to humanity, to not lose his... I wonder how long it'll last before he decides that the title of "Sage" is less attractive than the title of "Maou".

Ah, it came. My most hated development. The strong, capable, and smart MC is "forced" to do something he doesn't want to. I am sure later down the line he will even be thankful for the coercion... This school is so sketchy. A forced contract that basically ensures obedience to a faction, without any info. A teacher that blatantly stalks and tries to steal a students magic. A student council leader who immediately blackmails a student.

That doesn't apply to this chapter though?

I really don't want to come off as a huge fan of this story(which I'm not), but the demands for full blown edgelord unpalatable bullshit is pissing me off.

The author is taking his time with the school arc(and of course I'm enjoying it).
But, you know, I'd change his decision. He could say:

- Ok! You can feel free to expulse her and on the way, I'm droppin' as well.

> Wha!? Are you crazy?
>> Nani?
Asley turns around, leaving while the two still have shocked expressions.
Not believing in what Asley said, Irene can't really find the words and frustrated try to protest.

>You don't care about her studies? Where do you think she will find better instructors to bring her true potential out?

Stopping his steps, Asley just looks above his left shoulder answering:

-A better teacher then myself is yet to be born.

After this... Just let the shit hit the fan.

I really want to pet Pochi. So adorable.

Also...are people really complaining about this chapter? Really?

I'm pretty sure the "there are no traces of magic tampering, meaning that it was totally tampered with" wouldn't hold up well if they decided to press the forgery thing. Pretty sure they don't actually have shit on him.

Hoping MC isn't as dumb and naive as his title implies and makes them regret doing an incredibly shitty thing of threatening those associated with him. Bring me the fury of a 5000 year old man! Make those whelps who existed ~250 times less than he did pay!

@Reimos the guy said that was what got him to look into it deeper. He later said it took him two days to find evidence of tampering. So he did find evidence eventually.

@Reimos

It actually would be enough though. Remember that he also tampered with his own contract in a very sloppy manner. The fact that they're living in a pseudo-medieval fantasy world should also be taken into account. It's reasonable to assume that they aren't operating on modern standards of law; authority figures like Irene/edgelord glasses kid would have a lot of leeway in making decisions and passing judgment.

Asley could've gotten away with the whole damn thing had he done a thorough job of tampering with his own contract lol.
