This kind of useless advice pisses me off, you are basically telling the person to do the end goal that is what they said they want/need without any actual guidance of getting there. Let me tell you there are few things more depressing than putting yourself within a throng of people and still feeling lonely because you feel out of place/they don't seem to find you interesting enough to actually pay you any attention/you just can't keep up with the conversation to jump in.
