Isn't what the guards did illegal? I'd imagine even here, there should be a warrant of arrest from some sort of authority, right? Plus, they aren't official knights, they're just guards. And the matter of counterfeit coins shouldn't be handled by mere guards but the proper authorities. The authorities would be the ones pressing the charges and they will then have the knights order Asley's arrest. If just anybody can arrest someone, even without any authority, without a single warrant and without a whiff of evidence, then society would crumble as we know it. Of course, I get that this is set in a more anarchical time, but even then the official knights wouldn't just let mere guards arrest a person without going through them. Because the knights will be the ones who will enact the law, the guards are just there to guard the place. This just seem like a stupid plot point to have Asley leave the city. And with this, it's also lost me. Asley himself isn't the most charismatic character in the story, and his goals doesn't seem very important so it's hard to root for him. But the people in the university actually has semblance of a good characterization. In specific, I'd want to see how Rina will help Foltown, I'm rooting for her more than Asley who just does whatever he wants. And now with her being taking backstage, I can't root for anybody anymore. If only Asley had more pressing goals, then it might've been acceptable that he get separated from Rina but he doesn't. He's just being tossed around by everybody around him and that might be a good turn your brain off read, but for something posing as a serious and deep story, it's just not good to have a protagonist that has such passive stance. Because it's frustrating. Beyond belief.
