Seriously the humble pointy stick also known professionally as the spear was the most popular weapon for most of history, it's sure isn't as flashy as going around "swoosh swoosh" like a sword and doesn't require "years of studying the blade" (you have time for premarital sex with a spear) but it's safer for any non trained person.

Sorry for the rant but i'm sick of seeing media having a hard on for "Big Knives" known as swords (and don't start me on the trillion times folded katanas we in the west have a hard on for)

Note: Spear + Shield does work mainly while in an army formation, in duels you are better off with spear only.

A spear is insignificant? It's easily the best weapon in all of history. The word "spear" exists universally in all languages, maybe a few exceptions, which is unique for a weapon (counting "knife" as a tool).

If you get bad nicknames like that, it means they want to put you in your place, which means they think you're good enough that they have to before you hurt their fragile pride.

And in real history, experts used spears and advanced versions of spears. There's a ton of different polearms used by all classes of warriors.

Note: Spear + Shield does work mainly while in an army formation, in duels you are better off with spear only.

It's not so cut and dry. A shield is a huge advantage in a duel, and one thing it does is that it removes a lot of the reach advantage two-handed weapons have, since blocking and closing in is a much safer move.

(and there's also the fact of the ring she gave to Yukina and vice versa the gifted necklace given to her by Yukina that same outing too)

Aina would be the 3rd girl to join Yukina after Kyunei and "Silver Flash" (Shikage's her name, she also fall for him by next chapter and so)
Although it'll be quite a while until Aina can join with them.


As for the Brave, I dunno, but he probably does have a female substitute? member for his party instead of Aina though.
(He's also jealous and envious of Yukina iirc this happens a bit later on, around ch.19-20 ish)

(which happens from a demon summoning a dragon which led to Gram to 'awaken' in true form, sword)
