Just another repeated reminder of my post from ch.20, in regards to the artist that took over from ch.21 onwards
(in case anyone wants to know, you can check both series to see the similarity in art style by Kuushin)

Note-to-self:
I now noticed the artist mangadex page for Arai Kuushin was updated to include this manga adaption (who did the art for the other series I mentioned in my post from ch.20, said link above, before working on this manga adaption)
(looks like Kuuma page was taken down and correct-updated this series under Arai Kuushin, since it's still the same artist but under another name when the Kuuma page was probably made at the time of ch.20 or ch.21's upload) (That is all I have to say)

Since this story has action as a bit of the focus, the previous version's art complemented it quite well with its sharp, bold lines, hard textures, and intense dynamics. Here, it's like all those sharp edges have shaved and dulled down to be smooth, but too soft to fit in an action story, and the few 'dynamic scenes' just don't do it justice, either.

One of the new changes that I liked here is how they made Gram to be occasionally emotive with that gem serving as its eye. It really falls on the details if you pay attention to it. I don't recall the previous version having that, probably because the art is just simple and flexible enough for most of the characters to have a wide range of emotions while keeping. With Garm being a spear, basically a line with a pointed tip on one end, even with its jewel, it's surprisingly more difficult to make it emote while keeping its foundational form than it looks.

I'm just giving my two cents for why some readers are put off by the changes in the art style, but the reasons could vary. Either way, I'll have to learn to live with this.

I may be in the minority here, but there are times that I actually like the new art. Though besides those points it is still a general downgrade

Yeah kinda reminds me of the art in that one manga about the dad and the mom going to beat up their son after he ditched his fiance and shit but unlike this story the story on that one is fire.
In that manga its already 'stylistic choice', just like One-Punch Man. Still, along with cut content, makes novel's 'dirty'. :meguuusad:

Your comment reminded me of something, funny as you are second one in this treat:

That one was originally a comedy/gag manga, but the publishers and editors decided to hire an experienced action mangaka to collaborate with the original creator to make it into an action series while keeping faithful to its original approach to comedy, albeit with instances here and there where the art style becomes simple to fit the air and the mood of the main character. No complaints here on that.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having trouble digesting the new art. I was worried it might be just me for a moment, it's a shame, but I for one think I will be dropping this series here.
Same, also, anyone know the reason the artist changed?

I gotta say what the new artist focuses on for titilation isn't my jam, and the way they draw eyes has no impact for me. But they're good enough at action scenes, framing, and emotions that it's not terrible, but it really is just super generic now.

The side profile of Kyunei at page 5 while also commenting on her beauty really hurts to see compared to page 10 of chapter 10. Please, take a look at it. While I do have interest in the story the art style difference stings so much. I find it difficult to continue reading when you give a poor contrast like that. That, for me, makes the story the only compelling part now.
I used to go "oh my gyatt" when I looked at the three wives, but not anymore I suppose. I think it's sad to say that only in the volume cover art do we see a great result. 😦😔

Edit :
I've also just noticed how soulless Yukina's eyes are now, just a blob of black ink. A little sinister reminder that we don't have the artist anymore...
