Distracted this whole time by how weird and impractical the outfit is. The part hanging down to cover her privates has that random hole for the belly button, there's no panties or anything below it, there's a random band on her left leg that's not attached to anything, the sleeves are not attached to the middle part of the outfit and are incredibly loose so there's no way they would ever stay on at all much less stay in the same position on the upper arm, bangles on each arm that would also just slip right off along with useless cuffs like you would see in bunnygirl outfits, the collar thing (at least normally I think they are called collars) also has a collarbone hole for some reason that's then covered partially with a fancy bow. Also she wears heels. Nothing here makes any sense or is practical in any way.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here,

And make the guess that she isn't the one who's in charge of her wardrobe.
And if you read the rest of the chapter, the subtext makes the design pretty damn clear, I'd argue.

If there are no gods, then who or what is giving her those powers?
I actually figure the gods do exist, insofar as she gains power from them. But they don't exist as the Church claims they do, and/or the Church might have been corrupted over time and now are idol worshipers, whereas the gods still favor her personally for going around and murdering purifying disposing of bad people like we saw at the start of this chapter.

Hmmmm jaded priest character who fights all agile like with a dagger and a book of scripture that buffs her with magic.
Menou does Akari know you're cheating on her in this world?
Just give me Ashuna but more small/flat chested but totally a flirt looking for ladies to love similar to Brock.

So hopefully they turn against the church reveal their secrets and destroy all the existing powers since they are obviously just using different excuses for personal benefit and the hero was sent to save them but doesn't bow to them.

I trust Sciencey with my life but was it me or did the dialogue feel a little bit clunky?

Some of the panels also felt a little bit male gazey and fan servicey with the angles and really impractical clothes but that also just might be me

I would put forward the argument that, at least in terms of the clothing, it's because of who she works for.
The angles could just be reinforcing that the world in general is super "not great!" for women, and meant to really suffuse the reader's impression of how objectified and oppressed that portion of the population is within this society/region/place.

Sort of a subliminal "this is a bad place if you're a lady, and everything about the story down to the visual presentation is meant to subconsciously reinforce that fact - just in time for our FL(s) to rebel against the system and tear it all up from the root."

While I did think about that, also including weird angles into the analysis is a bit of a stretch imo. Like, maybe I could understand panels where she's interacting with male characters, especially the cardinal, but the angle and her ass being pronounced on page 32 while she fights the werewolf for example don't give me the impression that they had social commentary in mind while drawing it.

All in all, from my experience with anime and manga I'm reluctant to give the author benefit of the doubt on this

I'm absolutely trying to be as charitable as I can with that explanation, yeah. The idea is fun enough that I want to not have too many non-plot-related problematic details involved that risk tainting my enjoyment of it, but I do agree that deluding oneself is also not the right answer.

Maybe it'll improve come the next chapter(s), and a more informed decision can be made at that time.

So distracting! The paneling goes out of its way to highlight it too. It almost feels like intentional parody, its so nonsensical. The sleeves and bangles are the craziest part like how does she even use her arms to do anything, let alone assassinate people? The sleeves are perfectly positioned for impeding mobility of the elbow joints and cutting off circulation to the lower arms with the fastener holding them in the place. The cuffs would chafe from sweat and loose fit. The bangles would get tangled with the cuffs or slide off at the worst moment if the arms weren't held at the correct angle. Uncomfortable to fight in and wear around.

Yeah that's one aspect sure, but I mean, in general there's multiple parts of the outfit that just, wouldn't work as clothing. The sleeves/bangles would just fall off for instance. This is a terrible outfit for someone whose job is generally being an assassin, and it is needlessly complicated and delicate and therefore likely to tear or get in the way of movement. Plus it would be terrible for avoiding suspicion/being identified. They can be sexist and realistic/practical.

It would depend on whether the hero was the first ever target she was told to seduce. If the Church made a habit of forcing her to regularly use her body as a means of getting close to targets, then an outfit worthy of a Persian king's harem wouldn't be the most out of place.

Why she's wearing it everywhere? Well, all I can say is there's a limit to what I can even try to give reasons for with only one chapter to go off of.

Except it's implied she is used to dispose dissidents, whetever just dissident of the doctrine or also of the orthopraxis is still to be seen, and the bad people in the group are only a subset
p.s saw 3 Volumes of LN in english, I suppose I will take them.

Extract from LN chap 1:
I’d had plenty of complicated jobs before, but they’d pretty much all been
things like breaking into a nobleman’s heavily guarded manor, or wiping out an
order of heathen missionaries who’d snuck into the capital
Yeah, she is totally not a good person, she knows that she is used by them to help them keep power, and nothing is actually god's will, but she "do a better life them most". she also seems to put some importance to the vows she made (maybe when she become a nun, unclear). It's also unclear, but imho implied, if the church have some ways to force her.
P.S this is all chapter 1 of the LN, hardly spoilers.

I'm almost at the end of LN Vol 2, and god the amount of cognitive dissonance inside these character is so high it's cringe.

I really hate her outfit. Like, I've seen impractical and lewd outfits before, especially on these Isekai/fantasy mangas that seem to take inspiration from male oriented fantasy games-
Not really a fan of how the story is presented but with only one chapter out I won't be too harsh on this, I'll see where it's going and decide later if drop or not-

It's really obvious the artist uses 3D models as references or draws over them. It's not to the point where it's unreadable, but it is somewhat distracting.
