It's very likely that this manga was just an advertisement for the novel, so yeah, it's unfortunate.

I'm assuming the stories about people turning into demonfolk is due to people eating monsters out of desperation so they don't properly prep the meat aka draining the blood, dissecting and removing the magic stone and properly cooking it. The other thing might be the fact they "pray" before eating which I thought was a weird thing to make a big deal out of back in chapter 2

There is sadly no translation from what I can search with my limited Google-fu skills. Hopefully the fanTL of the manga will garner the right interest for someone to decently translate the novel (or by some miracle an official publisher, like J-Novel Club).
