This manga is only based on the WN. It doesn't have to be a frame-by-frame remake of the source material. A lot of the time the author learns from mistakes they made in the original and makes changes in the remake.

Why should their husbands share the money with them? This looks to be a strongly medieval inspired society with what is obviously a very major patriarchal (in the literal sense) structure. So, the money was given to their husbands as the heads of their families. With them, it'll still be spent on the family and, from what we see of their houses and such, it was indeed spent on their families' prosperity.

So, their former wives' complaints and insults are just petty greed and selfishness.
