Don't have the patience to look through the thread to see if it's referenced, but this immediately made me think of an old YouTube video. A guy's girlfriend "apologetically" reveals that she's in love with his boss and has been sleeping with him for a very long time now. She asks him if he's okay and he says yeah, and he knows what he needs to do: he's going to go and %$#% her mother.

@Aurosandro, I have to say I can't agree with your position at all. Frankly I hate how prevalent those sorts of opinions are, unable and unwilling to accept any kind of redemption or reconciliation, convinced that a story's trash just because someone who does something bad doesn't suffer to the very end. Never mind that they all break severely, become traumatized, become horrified at the sight of other people injured or killed because of their mistakes, and ultimately become better people. They rejected the hero early on, so if they don't die painfully this's just a beta-male cuck fantasy. Learn a bit about forgiveness, about reconciliation, and about redemption. These things don't make a story bad, no matter how many morons think it does.
