That was a perfect opportunity for the MC to use his trap skill to hinder the wolf's movement but, no. The author just went with a cliche twig trap. You don't need to be a "Trap Master" to do that. That whole situation was a huge waste of opportunity and it wasn't even difficult to write.

"If he wants to chase after us. We need to finish it before he catches up."
Their biggest concern is his safety. If he chases after them again, he will die, unless he gets a new power, that she doesn't know.
That is why they want to finish the last dungeon so that he doesn't need to risk his life anymore.
