Let's also not forget that Mikana is, at her core, a tsundere, and as we all know, when a tsundere says or does one thing to her love interest, it can come off as something else entirely, mostly for the worst. She's also Yuuga's childhood friend, so that's a double-whammy, and add into how she encouraged leaving the Yuuga's previous crush (Cecilia) to die at the beginning, souring their friendship even further, and that's a triple-threat of losing-heroine obstacles Mikana laid out for herself. Oh, and they're all teenagers, if I remember correctly (except Raven, I think?), so chalk puberty and hormones on that list, too.

Sure, the abandonment thing has been smoothed out and Yuuga is quick to forgive, it still leaves a stain on Mikana's conscience, making her further hesitant on whether she should confess her feelings to him (which, from what I can remember, we have not seen that happen yet). From that point on, though, she has just been 'making efforts to be noticed', which looked to have finally worked, but it did not turn out the way Mikana had hoped.

We can all agree that Yuuga is as dense as a black hole, but even she knew that, and Yuuga finally coming to that realization of her feelings for him the way he did? Had also given her a revelation of 'what the fuck have I been doing all this time?' and not just confessed her feelings to him waaaaaay earlier.

So yeah, in short, both of them are so stupid that they're practically made for each other, much to everyone's frustrations.

"finally seems to confess" and "finally confess" are two separate things, but I should probably have rephrased it differently.
I wanted to keep the lines short, so the phrasing weakened the context.
What "finally seems to confess" means is that Yuuga didn't confess to her, but to her it might have sounded like one, or the build-up to a confession.

I re-analyzed the pages, and the setting of them makes it look like she very likely thought that a confession was incoming, she was getting more and more flustered, and her eyes go from clear to swirly which usually indicates an overwhelmed state of mind. Yuuga suddenly asking if she likes him makes it clear she had gone through all those feelings for no reason, that Yuuga is as dense as always, and the fact that he clearly hasn't been able to pick up on the fact that she does, indeed, like him irks her.

While the hero is a dumbass, I feel like the mage is a bit at fault for not being direct with her feelings. The hero is someone who needs things told to him directly and tells people how he feels directly so him getting punched for finally starting to understand her feelings when she has be rather indirect and has (reluctantly) reaffirmed his view that they are just friends feels a bit too harsh.

I get what your saying and true the hero is someone who needs to be told things, however that a excuse that can only go so far

It’s not so much that he dense “ofc that has a limit and he well past that threshold” and he deserve the beating and happiness 50 punch. It’s more so that he’s been taken her for granted and been taking advantage of her for such along time even though she been supporting him like this for along time and only now when it was spelled out for him

Is he beginning to realize her feelings. Or at the very least he realize that she been pushing herself to the extreme for him and is now noticing!
