Totally agree, hero boy is way too childish still. Even if he showed the slightest bit of emotional development here, it’s like he went from the mental state of a toddler to the mental state of a tween

Finally he realized, he still a child but atleast he realized he screwed up and someone spelled it out to him. a lot people pointed out in the last ch forum oh why didn't Mikana say anything and that she should've expected as much. and yes while that maybe be true the issue is that I think I and the in world character have. isn't that he didn't notice her feelings "thought that still problematic".

the problem is that he taking advantage of her unintentional at some point treating her support as a normal thing, not properly praising or worrying about her, he only showed concern when someone spelled it out for him and when he's in trouble he ran to her ignoring her feelings entirely

basically using her when it convenient for him

Youki was stronger than the demon lord with his isekai cheat. He didn't want to do anything though, so he never tried to fight his way up the ranks or show off.
