NGL I hope they give Kuro an arc. Because IMO as she is currently, shes nothing more than a toxic narcissistic.... I don't want to say groomer because our MC isnt a child. But it feels very similar. She collects all the "ugly ducklings" and "fixes" them in a sense. Give them a place to "belong". It feels so...... wrong. Like MC's actual what I assume to be adoptive parents care about him yet he somehow feels like Kuro was the only one to reach out to him and get him to open up?
Like if he stays he has many people there who actually love him in not such a toxic manipulative way. But they are making it so Obvious Kuro is all the MC has eyes on I am honestly dreading the ending, as I feel they are not going change anything about Kuro. Like even now she built up this relationship, to basically dependency. Then she just vanished cuz reasons? And now shes back but in a super indirect and cryptic way? Feels so manipulative and toxic to me.
I guess i gotta back back and re read, I don't remember the maids disliking him at all, only the slight messup in them not being used to men being there due to the king, and then "losing" him in town. Which IMO was indirectly Kuro's fault. Even if it was the phantom kings doing, at least I think it was implied to be the phantom king after the end of last arc? Or it could have been those weird cultist dudes I guess. But my money is on the phantom king since Kuro just so coincidentally happened to have a handy dandy magic item to solve the problem. Feels like a setup by the phantom king to help out Kuro.First, they are indeed his biological parent but they're passed away since he's an infant, i forgot about the detail but he kept blaming himself for their death.
Second, it's true that a lot of poeple actually care for him, but the maid and servant of lilia household is actually view Kaito rather negatively (To which immediately got rid of by illness). Through such unwelcoming first impression as well as king not inviting him to the party and partly him blaming himself, kuro is the first one to save him in the isekai world which explain his interest toward kuro (which actually would be the reason for final arc battle).
Third, kuro raising baby bird is her effort in thousand of years in search to looking for someone (Not official, but i hypothesize it because she is part of shiro that is also looking for certain someone) could hold dear while not being afraid of her power and put up respect instead, but so far her effort only result in even more respect from her "baby bird", something she despise the most since she's looking for an equal despite the difference in power. Her situation is pretty much like isis, except she suffer far longer but managed to hide it way better. At one point, she decide to tinker with the teleportation portal and thus calling 4 people instead of 1 which include kaito. Long story short, by day kuro kept feeling that kaito is the one she's looking for thousand of years, but even more afraid that kaito would also put her in the highest respect (You can see it in the manga how she is dreading when kaito finally know she is underworld king). Her sense of joyous of finally finding him along with even more anxiety made her decide to put a distance on kaito to avoid getting hurt
Ah mb, disliking might be too frontal on my part. What i meant is rather unwelcoming to kaito, but that's seen to kaito as disliking. Iirc kaito getting lost was due to the 3rd party interference (the one thug that appear in the manga that is forgiven by kuro). That being caraway, which iirc despite kuro forgiveness her life is already pretty much over, that is until caraway is recruited to kaito household as maid or guard (?)I guess i gotta back back and re read, I don't remember the maids disliking him at all, only the slight messup in them not being used to men being there due to the king, and then "losing" him in town. Which IMO was indirectly Kuro's fault. Even if it was the phantom kings doing, at least I think it was implied to be the phantom king after the end of last arc? Unless they reveal more in future chapters, currently to me she feels more like plotting rather than being pained like Isis. Mostly because of the whole she built a house right next to Lilia's mansion to seemingly make him get super used to her presence then magicly just vanish so it can cause him to long for her.
It should be about to be 12 iirc. Included in order of confession (might not fully accurate) Kuro, Isis, Alice, Sieg, Lilia, Fate, Shiro, Anima, Vier, Olivia, illness, and Kaori is still in the process iirc
