After all this, i wonder how the manga could've been if it followed the LN after Alice arc, instead of diverging from the LN and going completely original plot lol (since Alice arc is the end of Vol.1)

this is stupid as fuck, why did the king even need the hero if he has this shit lmfao
You gotta remember, the king is a HUGE coward. He would never risk his own skin unless it was his last option.

He was expecting the hero to be killed when he dueled the demon king. Then he hoped either the big bad dragon or the mage cult to do him in. ONLY after those plans failed and Lloyd rejected one of his orders did the king actively try to kill him. Even then he only got involved only AFTER every other tool was deemed ineffective.
Hell, the reason why Lloyd is so strong was because the king was fearful of attacking the demon king himself, so he used Lloyd and many others as lab rats to gain more power.

Just out of this living world already king, please. Your people won't want you anyway after seeing that huge demon mana.

Also, feeling really sure on battling Loyd? Really? He fought demon king for 3 days non stop! You can't even stay awake past your bedtime on your daily basis!!

Thank you for the sl!

Thanks for the new chapter!

Stories like this makes you think why monarchies in our history were eventually almost entirely quashed out of the system (technically why we had a 2-part great world war and why we have botched "democratic" government systems right now).
It wouldn't be long now 'til even the people of their kingdom would call for the king to step down because of this. I'm pretty sure the nobility has had about enough of him even before this.

From what I understand, the King's Rip-off "Mobile Suit Goondam" supposed to be higher spec of what enchanted MC, and he assumed that's all the power need to take down other, considered MC has the power and took down Demon King...
Sadly for him, one thing he did realized is that even with the enchantment, what took down Demon King wasn't only just enchantment, but also Tenacity and many other thing, seem like in a sense, the Fat King really gave himself a "nice?" and tough Coffin

With the mention of Lloyd's mana hand, I feel like it would feel like slightly less of an asspull to have Cain use hers on Eve (assuming she also has one since she has a device) rather than w/e the Causal Case is about to do.
To be clear, the mention of the hand is Lloyd converting mana into something he can use, and presumably the same for Cain. It wouldn't make the magic tolerable for someone else that way. Presumably the next closest to actually being able to do that would be the mage, but the causal case has already been stated to adapt mana on its own I believe

I'm curious as to what this chapter means for power-scaling in this story, particularly when it comes to where Duke (the demon king) ranks, and if this is a retcon of earlier chapters.

While power-scaling has always been a bit unreliable to begin with in this one (and is admittedly not the focus of the story), we were told early on that Eve was supposedly stronger than Duke, and then later that Sophia was in the 'same class' as Eve, yet both were clearly no match for Lloyd. From this, I at least assumed that the the fight with Duke was difficult only because he had an army of demons with him, and even then probably ended pretty quickly.

Now we're told that defeating Duke (with no mention of the demon army) took three days of continuous fighting, suggesting that he was at least somewhat comparable to Lloyd in strength, and by extension significantly stronger than Eve (who appears to otherwise be the strongest non-'hero').

That said, our source for those early comparisons was the King and intel from the kingdom, so maybe they were just flat-out wrong and never understood how strong Duke really was.
