Auntie Cain gets a much-needed clothing makeover. She can't be dressed in rags forever! Not when her sister-in-law and her nieces have anything to say about it. Dress-up time.
That big hug with the girls on pages 8-9 is just... chef's kiss
This kind of slice of life is exactly the wholesome content I signed up for with this manga.
Sophia wants to go to school and make friends? Great! She deserves to have at least a semblance of a normal life after everything she's been through. Also, I see Auntie Cain has finally accepted being part of the family with that synchronized stalking sequence they had, and her knowing exactly what to do with her favorite niece Alice, who IIRC can't exactly fly like everyone else.
So from some comments it turns out the long arc with the king was manga original? I guess that explains why despite its unusual length it was... actually inconsequential aside from introducing Cain to the family. Nothing really changed outside of that since he's still king and his kingdom still exists like before he went on his mad quest. He won't be plotting again anytime soon, though.
So anyway, it's kind of amazing that I'm here reading a story about one guy and four girls, three of whom are unrelated to him and yet this is somehow not a harem. Makes it quite memorable in the sea of fantasies I'm reading, and one I look forward to reading (whenever it's not in a long action arc with a dumb-looking villain)
