Not really as bad as others. This one was not "power of friendship = OP levels of power increase". This was more of changing a perspective, so that conflicting orders and obligations can get resolved differently. This is actually way more preferable imo because it is actually somewhat reasonable.

I disagree. This was worse. The main source of conflict, the driving force behind everything MC has done in the series, was just poofed out of existance because his friends pretty much said "Just don't do it".

A single statement by a friend seemingly fixed everything that was wrong.

I'm with @cor3zone
This was basically the equivalent of telling someone who has crippling depression "just don't be depressed lol". As bad as telling someone "you're not gay, it's just a phase"
I'm mad and annoyed.

That was pretty damn lame and cliche, but it would have been a fine place to end.

Continuing from here seems like it'll end up as bad imitation of Maoyuu.

@cor3zone, i disagree, because in-universe there is logic behind why is it possible for the "problem" to just go away when the "friends" said to do so. i mean, the talk with the elf mage during latter half chapter 15.2 and the next's half is basically about presenting this logic.

To put it into perspective using comparison provided by @stretch22, It's like a person who claims they has crippling depression but you know they're always chipper when doing particular something, so you advice them to spend more time doing that thing. Or someone who claims they are gay but you know said person always stole glances whenever they see a cute opposite sexes.

You're really not helping yourself with that comparison. Are you a psychologist? If no, then you have no fucking business trying to 'treat' depression. Can you read minds? If no, then you have no fucking business assuming anything about another's sexuality.

There may be so-called 'logic' behind the 'solution'. It's still a fucking cop out. Everything the MC has done, everything the manga has been building toward so far, was driven by one thing: MC's programming. One simple "just don't, bruh" just made that disappear. Essentially, everything about this series so far is now meaningless. Leo is now a 'perfect' being, Echidna now has everything she needs to fix every problem she currently has.

If this was the end of the manga, fine. I wouldn't mind everything being resolved then. But it was just the end of an arc. The author is going to have to pull some bullshit out of their ass, or this won't be remotely interesting anymore. There is nothing that can threaten MC and crew now. Leo outclasses every other DH-series, by virtue of having gained all their unique characteristics. He is now immune to the only thing that previously threatened him, the countermeasure developed over generations. The humans are no threat to him at all, now that he no longer has to protect them. He has thousands of years of knowledge, making it pretty much certain that he can fix any societal problem they might ever run into. He is fiercely loyal to the demons, so by extension there is nothing that can threaten them either. The situation now is boring, like a slice-of-life.

@cor3zone, holy, calm your nipples, man. It's unhealthy to get this stressed by some fictional story that doesn't really even grounded on reality for its premise.

I'm not stressed. I called out your bullshit, and explained my point. Can't take an argument, don't counter in the first place.

@cor3zone, well if you're going to play that way...

First, i will say that to me it sounds like you're lashing out because you yourself have somekind of personal problem in which people who are close to you always insensitively advised you to just "better yourself" or something along "it's all on your mind", hence why the conclusion of this arc is very offensive to you.

Second, read my comparisons more carefully, you don't need to be a psychologist to notice someone is like that nor be a mind-reader to know when somebody looks like they got a crush. Or are you that inept at reading people's expression that you need a psychologist's help to tell whether someone is happy or not? A mind-reading ability to tell when a someone has interest to somebody else?

Third, you're grossly misunderstanding the point of my comparison. I'm NOT saying that people who actually have depression only need to find things they enjoy and spent more time doing them nor that gay people is actually just bisexual. I'm saying that the MC of this manga, Leo, act exactly like my comparison. He keep saying things like "BECAUSE MY ABSOLUTE PROGRAMMING SAYS SO!" despite as discussed by the elf mage, he actually always capable to deny said programming and had instance when he already done so, like the fact alone that he can came up with a plan to bring disaster for humanity despite "do not bring harm to humanity" also one of the absolute programming he has. Scratch the psychologist or mind-reading, you need interpreter's help instead.

Fourth, you're reacting like it's impossible for someone to be enlightened and thus found a new resolve to face their inner mental/emotional problems simply after a wholesome and heart-warming talk with people they are close with.

Fifth, your accusation that this manga going forward is only going to be slice-of-life is only your deduction at best. Just read other comments here, some users brought up loose ends that could spews conflicts for the future chapters.

Sixth, judging by how you see my previous "counter-argument" as such instead of a kind warning that you need to eat snicker. It's clear you're the one who can't take argument.

Nice ad hominem, troll. Nice strawman, too.

Your previous comment wasn't the counter I referred to, though. Your initial response was. When I responded to that, you got all pissy with the ad hominem.

@cor3zone, *sigh* troll and strawman huh? Just admit you don't read my whole comment.

Tho I guess that is better than having you lashing out again.
