We already knew it but the environment Suzuki grew up in was toxic asf. He wasn't even allowed to get sick. It's heartbreaking to see that the effects of child abuse ingrained in him carried on to adulthood. So much so that he's still studying even though he's sick and his father isn't even around to force him.

Although Washio is healing him. By dragging him around and doing things he was never allowed to do, Suzuki is slowly learning he actually has the right to want what he wants, and that he can take pride in those things even when it goes against everything his father drilled into him. Now it's just about figuring out what that even looks like—finding what he genuinely wants to do, not what he was told to.

Knowing that this is ending soon just makes these last two chapters hurt worse. We were getting some solid plot progress alongside all the fluff.
I can kind of see the authors point in not being able to deliver on the premise of "learning about fun activities with my cute tan coworker". Eventually after so many chapters I'd probably be sweating to come up something new too.
