Hmm.
Kou becoming a gravure idol/model makes it even more interesting, seeing Amane so hung up on her and hating herself for it. She fell in love with someone who now "exists for a ton of people" and thus could never be solely Amane's—especially as Kou so enjoys being photographed and bringing joy to so many as a result.
Which, kinda intriguing when Kou says "I might not want you to take anyone else's picture but mine...." ..as I'm sure that was an authentic feeling from her, but not in the same emotional context that Amane is feeling.
I look forward to Amane getting further entrenched in Mei's pain and escapism. They're both running from loss, to varying degrees of destructiveness (Amane externally, Mei internally), but I am mostly wondering if this is meant to be a healing story of them moving past the people they can't have and finding happiness in one another, or if this will devolve into more pain and hurt and disaster. Amane seems like she's not above lashing out and doing things to spread her hurt around, after all—and Mei is innocent and open enough that she'd fall all the way into whatever Amane cooks up.
Hopeful healing, or a slow-moving car crash....either way, should be a treat to see where the author intends to take this.
