Clearly not the last we'll see of Mei. Whether she'll turn into a stalker is debatable--but I kinda see it as her actually staying away, and Amane being the one who blinks first and seeks her out.
Amane thus far has been the one who uses others and then discards them and moves on without thinking about anyone's feelings but her own. So if she suddenly comes down with a bad case of budding empathy when it comes to Mei, that would be a reasonable path forward for her character, in my mind--and it would be an inversion on what we've seen with her up to that point, thus flipping the script on the current narrative beat.

Still shocking to me that Mei's chasing the memory of a ghost, but it's very, very compelling at the same time. It gives her this naivety and weird "sad innocence", so counter to Amane, that I think they actually create complements for one another, if in a potentially dangerous fashion. This flashback into Amane's past will hopefully be illuminating, though, insofar as explaining more about why she is the way she is now. I expect it will shed more light on Amane underneath the selfish veneer she wears, potentially exposing the girl who (I assume) will eventually be falling for Mei.

Thanks for the TL. Glad this one's being kept up with.

I really don't get the camera fetish, but at least the MC seems to have feelings rather than just goals in this manga.

Immediately guessing the perfect shot Amane's been craving has to do with a picture she's gonna take with miss popular girl here.

THUS MAKING IT so... Amane's chasing the ghost of popular girl who is now being replaced with Mei
and Mei's chasing the ghost of her dead girlfriend who is now being replaced with Amane

THUS CAUSING A DOUBLE HELiX AND CREATING A SPIRAL THAT CREATES THE YURI HEAVEENS~~

Ghosts + themes and such, ty for the tl~~~

"believing your dead ex is alive" is like, at worst mid-tier as a mental disorder? I don't get the reaction. Amane getting that freaked out seems unrealistic for a womanizer. Like, she doesn't stick her hand into a toaster when you don't text back within 5 mins, she hasn't taken out a payday loan under your name to buy a satellite dish to contact aliens - chill out maybe? How did you get this far?

Well I mean it’s partially that she thinks it’s creepy and also probably that it’s too much of a hassle to deal with. I doubt mei actually thinks her ex is alive and is instead just having trouble moving on which yea could be addressed relatively easily with some support. But Amane hasn’t really figured out that she wants or is capable of having a more substantial relationship in that way so she just dropped the whole thing (for now)

I think the thing that freaks her out the most is her showing up at her apartment without warning and without ever being told, especially since she seemed like a girl who'd be easy to handle and manipulate. Amane is freaked out because she just realized that Mei is a bit out of her depth, and also she's not going to get a picture of true love if the person her subject is looking at isn't truly there.
