Hell, there's a pretty good chance he's got a secret deal with Beliel where he gave some sort of assurance that he'd be able to certainly kill Jillnoz so long as Elleby goes free.

not that it actually matters since I was just wrong on this line of thinking but they can bring demons back from the dead so long as they have a book, a mummy, a spell, the demon soul, and their book owner. So presumably if they'd kill Jillnoz after letting Elleby go free and kill Luna while they're at it Jillnoz will become unrevivable.
Though again not that it matters as the immediate next chapter proved my hypothesis wrong lmao.

They could have done that without bringing Jillnoz back though.

right but, I was specifically talking about freeing Elleby which requires Jillnoz to be alive. if on top of that Cuffey had made a secret deal with Beliel like i'd wrongfully hypothesized then bringing Jillnoz back, having her free Elleby and then kill Jillnoz again in such a way to ensure she couldn't come back to life would have been necessary.

Wow... wait... oh man, that is why she is so important, ignoring getting the spell vials, the most difficult part for a counter-attack plan was that the number of available mummys was low, but if they have a mamodo capable of making more, the vials become the only problem.
No, wait... I forgot, the petrified spell books, those aren't just any books... but, considering The Book is on their side, there is a plan for that.
And now that I think, this whole situation with Beliel, and the fact that those dolls were left 3000 years before... this feels too orchestrated, the book was a mysterious thing in the first series, but with how it ended, I just assumed it was some sort of higher being doing it... but with what happened now, there is more to this whole situation, and whatever is behind the spell books.
Even the tournament feels out of place now if we see it as just a tournament. I had many expectations for Jilnoz, but she still surprised me XD, I want to see her in battle.
