Because DPS "players" are stupid and get used to the buffs/healing, leading them to think that "they're that strong/good on their own" and the support isn't needed, the support is just taking up valuable space that could be filled with another DPS

And then when they kick the buffer out they won't notice a thing. It can make sense in a game where there are just numbers in play, not actual lives. I mean, the premise is old and dumb as it is, but some mangas are dumber about it than others.
