I'm not understanding why MC is being targeted by an investigation an shit. I don't mean from a story POV. Of course troubles should happen to MC, that makes for an interesting story. What I don't get is why a dirt poor support dude would attract attention from officials. Is he both a small fry and a big deal in their eyes?

The one that's shown in this chapter seems to think its the later but I think most of the official think he's a small fry or at least not much about him. Most likely that the higher up just don't want to bother to even consider the possibility of Wimm soloing the boss since past report hasn't mention much about his achievement
