i enjoyed reading this, but any idea why it was split up into multiple series? Personal guess is that author changed publisher maybe?

This was so much more entertaining than it had any right to be. I'm just annoyed that this was all a prequel.

The reason this got cancelled and it continued with identical content and story under the title “Reprobate's Song” is that Volume 4 got declared an unhealthy publication, which means it can't be sold to minors or displayed freely in bookshops, and I also get the feeling that this kind of declaration, because of its rarity/difficulty to get applied, leaves a stench on a series, so just change the title! It's definitely a new series. Definitely.
