very cute chapter. I'm still personally disappointed that Iori was written to be a crossdresser rather than a trans woman and seeing that mars symbol next to his name was an unfortunate reminder of that fact.

I think it’s valid for Iori to be a crossdresser like Rui though, considering whether or not some would like to admit, crossdressing is on the queer spectrum. And either way, nothing’s stopping you from relating to it from an allegorical perspective. Canon doesn’t have to be the end all of whether you can relate to something or not.

I more or less trust this author to treat stuff like this with tact considering the prequel did that quite well especially with the Kai stuff. If they say Iori isn’t trans, so be it.

It's been too long since I've read the original, so I don't remember a lot of the details of the characters' personalities and identities, but I think it's also good to have characters that enjoy crossdressing that aren't necessarily transgender. Like I said I don't remember Iori's story well, so if they're actually trans then they should be written like they are. However, if someone just enjoys the clothes without feeling like they identify with anything else, I don't think they should be pressured into changing their identity.
