So, I guess this arc was to introduce the concept of "ghouls" as a concept going forward? A race of kill-and-replace mimics existing in additon to the parasites that take people over?

The prince didn't really do much else of note. He came, was a jerk, and died without any other lasting effects. The whole war plot was just setup for this and not much else.

... Unless he actually survived. Which, honestly, would be weird.

I wonder if the ghouls are also isekaied people, but unlike the parasites, who all seem to be from Japan, they are from a different country or even world?

Not just ghouls, it was an arc of worldbuilding in general: political situation, means of war, level of technology, showing main geopolitical camps and players, where MC's nation stands in all that. And judging by the future covers, the ghoul/prince is never gone and is a major character going further, so it is a setup for the future plotlines that probably will return as soon as Stella is finally crowned.

So ghouls are a different concept from parasites. Didn't seem so at first.
The one here is doing a rather pitiful job posing as the original though (his totally changed behavior is either a glimpse at his real personality or part of his survival strategy by lessening the risk of betrayal, guess we'll see in the future).

And of course: lol at Colon poking fun at his small dick. :kek:

Well, I was going to type "little sausage" at first, but I realized that was too blunt. 🗿

His noticeable change of behavior could be vexing for some, but if it's for the better, would they really be so concerned whether he's the same person?

On the off-chance that he is, hey, he's reforming for good, good for everyone.
If he isn't the same person, that means the real one, still a pos, is either missing or dead ... which is also good for everyone.

There's like no downside to this change of character in either case.

EDIT: This is of course the preconceived notion of the people who serve under the prince/general, unknowingly standing on a platter for the ghoul mimic to feast on at any time. At this point, it would be hard for them to wonder whether they were better off getting abused by the original since the chances of them being alive may have been higher than they are in the mimic/ghoul's hands.

As a seasoned trash isekai enjoyer I am very entertained by this premise. But the writing. Friends. Is this manga actually good? It is a fascinating direction to stave off the death matches with politics and the notion that parasites deserve their right of self determination

Arghh. Japan supremacy in manga. Remind me of valkyrie series where the japan hero seems has more scene rather non japanese

The other body-snatching parasite who previously led a band of ruthless assassins, actually seems less psychopathic than the previous owner of his body.

The problem of the empire might also resolve itself soon after a mimic gets into their ranks.

is it wrong if I preferred the previous prince? he was antagonistic, an easy trouble maker, now he is replaced by a (possible) kissass character?
