I keep flip flopping back and forth on its gender. While it seems feminine, the elf ears (despite many races having them) alone permit a level of androgynous. He attacks it, and I've seen too many MCs that refuse to harm anyone littelone women, to fulling invest in the "it's a girl" perspective.
