the art is beautiful but so far this kind of just feels like a worse The Summer Hikaru Died... I was intrigued, but there's a concerning focus on Seki that I'm not sure I like lol.
Like was the scene of them licking his wound really necessary.

Is this lolibait. Should I just drop this.

I'm concerned that this supernatural mystery starts off its story with a major plot contrivance in the beginning, in which zero actual communication happens between the protagonist and his family about the creature in the attic. It would be forgivable if they had forgotten to explain the situation and the "siren call" to inspect the mystery noticed a new presence and took advantage of it, but the uncle in chapter 1 and 2 says nothing more than "don't go up there" and "are you sure nothing happened to you in the attic?".

The concern isn't too much now as its the starting point, but I would hate to get further into the chapters and encounter MORE of stuff like this where the situation could be resolved by characters speaking with each other.

Chalk this up to me being a hater honestly though, as I've gotten older I'm looking for different stuff as I've had my fill of the standard Shounen stuff, and browsing through the Seinen demographic can be pain because I want to discover more mature stories like Bard Loen where its more rational actors. Hell, even Shounen has great hits as I'm reading through Fist of the North Star.

edit after reading chapters 3-5:
Ah yes, the danger for not keeping the red child is that the entire island becomes blood and implodes on itself, it was a REALLY great idea to invite your nephew and then not warn them of ANY of the danger in the attic (as well as for said nephew to not respect any privacy and break into the attic) because if they ever disturb the red child and it escapes or dies, then you and the entire island are now gone. Congratulations.

Seems like there is a book with the same name and a plant monster on the cover, so if anyone can spoil me on that please do.
I dont really get the last reveal where
everybody and the people just became a bloodflower and the island just... explode?
