Rapey sleazy lesbians are perhaps my least liked trope. It's intolerable when it's a man, and almost always the male sleaze is treated as a creepy by others, but for sleazy lesbians it usually gets a certain amount of acceptance from all the characters.

Being a creep as a male = bad (as it should be)
Being a creep as a lesbian = good (or is tolerated)

Essentially.
I just find it obnoxious and sort of hypocritical.

That's a pretty broken sword. It can cast high speed magic based on instruction, read your mind (instruction doesn't have to be verbal), regulate magic taken, and grow stronger with every monster defeated. I can see why it's illegal. Especially if it's sentient and can make decisions on its own. Like dear God imagine those things turning on their users and forcibly pulling magic from people to attack each other with high speed chants they can't react to.
