I'd say just take it one chapter at the time, if something I read coming from the source is true, then it means the Manga has already made some slight different decisions, I have seen enough adaptation changing things that I just take whatever happens in the original novel as a series of fun facts rather than a bible.

when you see the wholesome sad but heartfelt moments between them its easy to almost forget their mental states, at least it showed they do seem to care about his feelings and well being on top of their ummmm 'goals', yeah i'll go with that.

though i'm still waiting on the other shoe to drop on if they're full on yandere or just super pervs with the biggest crush/obsession ever for him.. this seems like it could go either way. no one better slight hayato or they'll find out before we do.

As crazy as this is, I also find this fascinating because I'm 100% sure I would never be able to write characters like that. If you skip the characters, the story setting is nothing to write home about, but the characters are something else, for sure.
