you pretty much nailed everything i was thinking. this sort of development tends to earn a roll of the eyes in a lot of other manga but here it feels very earned and necessary. or i guess to put it another way, there's no reason for me to assume this is going to be dragged out and silly with how good the rest of the manga has been. That sad smile of acceptance and realizing that he's got tears in his eyes was very well done. His thoughts, too, are exactly the right ones. Saying to himself that he isn't part of their future, that it was just a strange twist of fate that brought them together for a limited time, is deeply sad and starts almost a grieving process.
We've seen this scene a lot, but this one really hits home because its about the future and the paths they will take rather than the present and what he should do. It's always annoying to see this scene be about how they don't feel like they should hang out with people who clearly like them or that they don't belong in a place that people clearly want them, but this one is a realization that he's been scared to have and can't argue his way around.
It's a great execution on the otaku/gal romance stress point, and just another way that this manga is a special example of the genre being done exceptionally well.

Why Japanese people love ntr so much?Search by "Kanojo wa Nerawareteiru" by Netorare no Tami
A POV NTR with very mediocre art featuring the usual small-sized shota with a super hot girlfriend who flirts in very sexual ways with everyone else around them, who all happen to have 30-inch cocks. The whole point is the shota being extremely paranoid because everyone else, with their big cocks, could easily steal his girlfriend away, and she plays along with it. That's why "She's being targeted."
Anyway, the story's point is that, despite her acts becoming more and more extreme and pushing the shota to develop a cuck fetish in anguish, she actually never crossed the line, and that's it—happy ending. Until the artist saw the money potential and began creating these "non-canon" routes where things do happen. As more money began pouring in, more branching scenarios started popping up, and now it's a whole mess because the artist is pretty much doing anything to please his supporters, to the point that it makes you wonder if these IF-routes are actually canon or not.
I actually read NTR, but I couldn't get into it because, again, at some point it became a convoluted mess and it was clear the artist was just doing whatever, which you can't exactly blame him for because, hey, gotta chase the bag, and... I mean... the artist's name is "Netorare no Tami" lmao.
Hey, it could be worse! Why Japanese people love ntr so much?![]()

1 Would be realistic and objectively the best optionI want 1 to happen and for it to actually go somewhere and I want it now, but I also want 2 as like a guilty pleasure
It's slang specific for porno manhwa sites and when you see this in comment section:I have never heard of “Korean Special Sauce” meme.
Where do I read about it? — googling for Korean Special Sauce mostly reasults in actual sauces being found.
4. Killer Queen Bites the Dust resets the timeline and make Otaku see Ijichi's signalI can see three possibilities that could happen.
- They run after him
- They never see him again.
- He gets hit by a bus and gets isekai into another world.
