'twas a good thing to read these two chapters back to back, I'd be chomping through my fingernails otherwise :korone:

Even if there hasn't been much cute in this arc, it's still a strong read. I kinda wish we'd seen more of the brothers' fist-to-fist heart to heart, but I can see why it was skipped. Ultimately the story is about Kasane and Subaru together (not to say they don't have their individuality) and the focus of the story rightly remains on how they grow hand in ass hand. Hence, I imagine next chapter will have a strong heart to hearth between our loveable MCs (and a proposal plz?! ) that's going to be as much a tearjerker as a fluffy heartstopper :glee:

That first shot of Subaru on the bench was brilliant!

Man this manga can be so just... real, sometimes. This feels like a fight brothers could have, it feels true, ya know? Not even just about crossdressing, about any hobby that doesn't align to strict standards. It also feels like Subaru has justified reasons to finally defend himself and change things. It's just... so real and so good. I wish more mangas could be like this.

Me reading the crossdressing manga: can't believe this author is forcing crossdressing...
You're right. I should've used legitimize.
I don't need to know what you think about this chapter, but what world would we live in if that's how we thought and couldn't express ourselves in public?
Pardon me for making a strawman like what this chapter did, but imagine this: an obese unshaven man in his late 40s wearing a thong, a microskirt and a crop top as a statement of rebellion to the status quo.

Would you respect their right to express themselves publicly? I find that hard to believe. We need to limit our personal expression in consideration of others. Yes, you could respect that, but should you?

How far should we take our tolerance? Give someone an inch and they'll take a mile.

As for me, I'm fine with it. I'm already numb to degenerate shit, but not numb enough to expose young folks to this.

Last chapter I was worried how big bro would handle Subaru's pushback, and while it went as I expected it still had a reasonable result. When you have someone dead set in their opinions, it's hard to convince them in one drunk argument. Especially a guy who is used to ignoring the opinions of others. Subaru reached a point of uneasy compromise and that's pretty good for the first battle.

I thought this was a nice pair of chapters that would have been greatly served by a bit more depth between Subaru and his brother's conversation, it's nice to see mangaka get their opinions out there via their characters. And it showed that a lot of Subaru's problems stemmed from a toxically masculine household, up to him being pushed into a certain job that no one ever considered really talking to him about.

Did the brother say 「色々苦労した」?
Because that’s an interesting dog whistle to drop.
I thought that was a trans thing. I didn’t know it applied to presentation these days.
or is it just coincidence because it’s accurate? I just know that for years 「私も色々苦労したわ」was a low-key way of saying “I’m actually trans.”
But I’m old.

Obviously, drinking alcohol and crossdressing aren't the same. Alcohol is a poison that your body can break down (and don't tell me it's fine in small quantities, try that with a pregnant woman and see how that works out) and impairs your judgment, so it's way worse. (Don't get me wrong, it's helpful to be able to consume alcohol since you can consume fruits that have rot a bit, and adding alcohol to drinks can make it safer which was pretty necessary throughout our history, but we don't need it nowadays.)
As an alcoholic, I can say with certainty that this silly and tedious.
In moderation alcohol isn’t harmful.
I think you should have to check your keys at the door of a bar, though. Something like that. Honour system at least.
How about smoking? That's something acceptable that people do in public that should be banned. Smoking is horrible for your health, and you can't keep it to yourself so when you're doing that in public, you're a health hazard for others.
It is banned in most public spaces aside from outdoors in the USA, and banned outside in most areas of japan. Only a few designated areas, or private businesses specifically designated to allow it (I think this makes more sense than how it works here. Easier to avoid a place of business than just… all of outside.
I’m a smoker, but I never EVER do it around children, the pregnant or, frankly, anyone, unless there’s a reliably directional wind and I can go far away and things blow away.
You're free to think crossdressing is a fetish which shouldn't be done in public but I think you're silly.
Quite silly, indeed. People can wear whatever they want. I’m a religious Jew. (Well, I’m super relaxed on some stuff, Haredi on the inside) There is nothing in Jewish law (Onkelos, 1st century CE Talmud, 5th century CE. Rashi, 9th Century CE) that forbids cross-dressing.
That’s all European nonsense that filtered into more and more gendering of things and now if you want to be in a traditional community things get mega-gendered and misogynistic aside a very few queer-friendly communities that are on the east coast of America…

Fuck me running I am high.

eh, his previous work was also regarding fetishes/fobias/personal quirks basically, and it didn't feel as forced as this one.
but it all depends on mind framework of reader, some will see it normal, some not. Target audience definitely a bit smaller this time around.
After all it's quite way more specific thing which seems enough to make people start wishing other readers didn't exist, cause wishing harm over different opinions is modern internet hobby.

I read this manga cause I liked previous author work and good character writing, setting is kinda irrevelant personally, but it certainly a bit less fluent reading experience, I'm not looking forward for new chapters as much as previous work.
I don’t think you know what fluent means, but the rest is purely subjective, and so I have nothing to add, there. For or against.

I'm gonna confront the editor who imposed this chapter deadline. This story can absolutely benefit from a slower pacing, and I too would've loved to read the brotherly argument. Though with how plastered they seemed to be, it'd probably read like two drunks rambling.
I get the feeling the readership wasn’t large enough to keep the story going, and they’re going for an ending with a lot of threads untied.
There are A LOT of threads going on, too. Everything in flux all at once.

we've all got a few family members that we're better off not talking to. at least the brother seems to have had a change of heart?
also, if you're opposed to crossdressing, I have a suggestion: just try crossdressing. just once. and then see how it feels and if you like it.

no-hello.gif

That's kinda freaky. Normally, you'd find those folks in Folsom Street Fair...
Buddy it sounds like you've got a fetish for this kinda thing that you're ashamed of, and trying to farm it out onto other people

“How would you feel if you saw that? Like can you even imagine? Like can you even imagine where you’d see that? Like do you know? Like if someone was gonna see that where would they go to see that? S-so I can avoid it”

As a former emo teenager and lifelong Scots Irish man (not American, actually born in Ireland to Scottish family) I really can't get behind the notion that a dude with makeup on or wearing a skirt is weird; that's most men I know at least some of the time.

You seem like fun at parties.
I actually am.
I just need to be “on” as it were. Endless puns with impeccable timing, knowledge on a number of subjects, because of voracious reading.

a massive amount of bullshittery helps. Well, it’s why any of it works.

I was told to be a comedian many times, tried it and not only did I suck, I didn’t like it. Know why? Because I’m not very good at writing funny. I do snappy comebacks.
Here’s the one joke I’ve ever written that is worth remembering:
The Seven Dwarves come home, singing, and Snow White says “Don’t ever call me that again!”

Wait, no. I know two more that are true stories, but they’re reaaally Jewish.
I can probably write a few more one-liners that very Jewish.

but again, I am a stoner, and stoned, so I should take a nap.
